I must start out with a recommendation for Dr Hall Findlay as a surgeon. She exudes experience, a clear mind and complete awareness of the field, yet she encourages feedback to ensure understanding of the patient's goals. She is professional, to the point, lighthearted, and considerate, and these are all very important traits to me; I am thankful for and appreciate the treatment I received and with the result of her work and recommendations.
She is an artist of medicine and surgery.
The anesthesiologist was an excellent complement to Dr Hall Findlay, and I highly recommend him. Like a lot of people, I am not too comfortable with needles or surgery. In the past, it has been difficult for me to be sedated and recovery was never great due to the anesthetic itself. To my surprise, walking into the operating room this time was one of the scariest experiences of my life - however, in a matter of minutes the anesthesiologist and nurses had brought me back to reality and helped calm the fear by confiding that many people feel scared just before surgery – that it’s normal. They continued to be supportive (and thankfully not overwhelmingly so) that I did not have a hard time falling under. I was nausea-free post op and came out from sedation in a timely yet comfortably relaxed fashion. I truly appreciate this.
I came out with the same conclusion I had after corrective eye surgery (Dr. J. King) - I wish I had done it sooner.
Some points regarding the procedure (pre/post op):
Despite all I had read about choices and styles, I asked the doctor for her professional opinion and told her the intent of surgery - to balance my body. The result = exactly that. I went from a B or A (depending on how fit I am at the time) to a beautifully full C. She, through her craft, exceeded my expectation of how I would turn out. Her recommendation of size, procedure and type fits my body perfectly. My other half LOVES it too - he was able to touch them right away (no squeezing lol.)
I can’t get over how special, soft and wonderful they are and how they feel. I love them so much. I wanted this procedure done, but never allowed myself to explore it because - I was worried about what others would say! As I age, I thankfully allow myself to dream. This surgery shows that even a small seed of a goal can manifest into a positive outcome.
You might not be aware of this but:
- I have reduced sensation and feeling below the nipple to where I was cut. From my understanding this will heal in time and I’m not worried. This is typical of any surgery.
- The weight of the implant is a strange feeling on my chest. I have to be more aware of my posture, especially at a desk.
- Implants are like wearing a marshmallow in your chest that is warm soft and wonderful, its still a new feeling, but I really like it.

Regrets: None (+see note above)
