I needed a conservative lip lift. My upper lip was long but I had plenty of tooth show and full lips. He took off just enough skin to shorten the distance between nose and lips without giving me a gummy smile ( something I was at risk for). The scar is undetectable! He is amazing at suturing ! I've had other surgeons give me hypertrophic scarring and I was terrified if the scar but he exceeded my expectations

I was terrified of getting a keloid but from what Ive been told is keloids are unlikely to happen from the mouth up. Meaning from the Chin down the skin is thicker and likely to keloid. I had problems with keloid after my chin implant and one bad one from gall bladder surgery. I told him though I look light skinned my skin is deceiving in that it scars. I truly believe he did do an amazing job suturing. I would talk to him mcat1045 show him any prior scars and see what he says. The only thing I used on the incision was the gel he has in his office after the first month and spf. Thanks about the nose it was a little added benefit that it widened a bit which it needed. People always asked if I had a nose job ( I don't) and not in a good way because of the pinched nostrils.

I wish I could change my review from " not sure " to " thumbs up ". It is now 5 months and the scar is undetectable which you can see the scar from another Dr. under my chin is pretty bad ( I scar pretty bad) . He gave me exactly what I asked for which was subtle he only took off 3mms. It sounds like nothing but it changed the shape of my upper lip which was losing its shape as I am 40 now. I also have a toothy smile to begin with and to take off anymore I would have a gummy smile. Here are some before and after s with and with out lips stick. Sorry for the chapped lips : (

Your review gives me so much hope because we had the same doc and I think our nose structure is somewhat similar. You're the only other person I've seen here besides me where the incision didn't go up into the nostril. When I fist realized this, I went into major panic mode but looking at your nose and the similar shape of your incision and seeing how well it turned out really helps me right now. I'm hoping my results will be as beautiful as yours. I also had only 3.5 mm excised, but like on you, it was a major improvement. Thank you for sharing, thank you for your support and encouragement! Wishing you all the best! You look absolutely beautiful. By the parts of your face you have revealed, I would have said you're at least 10 years younger than you are!

Thank you I'm glad it helped. I think you look beautiful now it does take time for settling. I'm at 5 months I am just now able to put my lips together to put put on chap stick. My only regret is I didn't have more taken off but I show so much teeth as is I'd look like the joker or something all teeth . Hang in there

Also call his office ask them when and how you should massage the incision. I forgot when you can start doing it and how many times a day. This also helps the scar from getting too thick.

How many mm are you now? I think this is definitely a procedure where you can get carried away. I got a tiny bit of tooth show and my initial reaction was "I want MORE, I need to do this again!" But when I thought about it on a clear head, I realized that things could go really wrong. More scar tissue, the rabbity look, a lip shape that I won't like, etc. I think your results look perfect and I don't think you would gain much from excising more skin, but that's just my opinion. What makes you wish you took more? Is it your philtrum length that still bothers you, or is it something else?

Last time I think I was 1.6 or 1.7 from 1.9. Wish it could be shorter would like my lip a bit closer to my nose especially that it droops with age again ( the aging process never stops). In my case I truly show ALOT of teeth and if not careful could wind up with a gummy smile. My cheecks and nose that's another story lol. Just need a job to get money in dire need of cheeck implants ; ) fillers don't last on me
