Looking in the mirror and being so disappointed...

Looking in the mirror and being so disappointed with the body I once knew, I longed for a tummy tuck for years. I had a consultation about 9 years ago, but once I saw the scar from hip to hip , I was completely horrified!! So I decided to continue to work out & eat right, but the lower # pooch wouldn't flee!!! Luckily I didn't have the surgery, because a year later I had my son, weighing in at 10 lbs 2.8 ozs. That little pooch became a golden retriever!!! Uggh, no matter what I did, it would not, I repeat would not go AWAY!! Crunches, leg lifts, planks, bicycle crunches, side bends, 6 inches, you name it, I probably tried it. I think the C/section had a great deal to do with it as well. Everything else on my body would tone beautifully, but the belly still looked soft and squishy, like I had two butts, one in front the other in the rear. Im 5 ft 10 in., 218 lbs..medium bone structure..loving everything about my body except for the abdominal area. Its all in my DNA, all the women in my family, after childbirth, have a GUT, that won't go away. This year, I came across a blessing, and I brought myself a tummy tuck with liposuction to the flanks. Im 5 days post op, still swollen and numb in the flanks, but im so happy that I decided to do it. I got a little scared the day before, because I was thinking about being put to sleep and not being able to wake up. Abdominals are not sore because I have a pain pump, but when I laugh, or cough, it burns terribly. Other than that, I'm doing great. I go to my first post op this Tuesday, the doctor will be removing my surgical garment that he has instructed me not to remove until I come into his office. I have one jp drain, that will be removed as well. Im going to the bathroom without any help, but fearful of the stairs, so in a few days we'll see how it goes. O, boy don't it itch!! Im resolving that by lightly patting myself on the itchy areas. Im not sure if the cause of the itching is my wounds in the repair process, or the fact that my skin has never gone this long without soap & water. Haven't showered since the morning of the surgery #rank. But nonetheless, I hit the open areas that I could reach with this compression suit on. So I'm super pumped about going to my post op, because the doctor will give me a new suit, and I can go home and finally take a shower. I really would love to have a bath, but later in the month for that I guess. Anyway, when I go to the doctors for my first post op, I will take pics, and post some before and after pics.
