Positives: Out of all the surgeons I've had consultations with, he was one of the better. My overall nose looks MUCH better than before and there are no major asymmetries. He listened to everything I wanted and did his best to accomplish that. I am extremely grateful at the work he was able to do and I look much better in person and pictures. I do believe Dr. Basner is a good rhinoplasty surgeon!
Negatives: I often felt rushed in our apts. A year after my surgery, the part I hated most about my nose is still unchanged. I was worried this would happen but in consultations he assured me multiple times that it would be changed. He says that part looks normal now, but other surgeons I have seen since agree that it looks abnormal. I'm also praying my breathing gets better, people have commented on my heavy breathing ever since the surgery. Lastly, one time they forgot I was there and I waited 1.5 hours to be seen.

I had a rhinoplasty with him last Wed 12/21/2016.
I'm a week post-op and see no change, and if any, it is worse with the swelling. Even though he assured me that I will look better than my pre-op nose and it will keep getting better. I already see asymmetric nostrils, one bigger than the other one. I hoped my nose will be straightened slightly, and it looks the same.
I know it's too early to be worried but I can't help.
Was your experience similar at the begging too?
Oh in my case I needed work on the tip of my nose as well as narrowing from top, check out my profile I have pics in a question I submitted a week ago.

Nvm!!!! I'm starting to love how it looks as the swelling went down!! It's very stressful to go through this but it paid off! I'm happy and I'm not even 3full weeks post op

Well, I guess I can stand by your side now that my nose looks pinched after all swelling went down :(

Nasal passage collapsed and deformities

5 years later and I'm having surgery with an ENT to fix the lower nasal collapse which occurred after this rhinoplasty. Dr. Basner also never fixed the part of my nose that I wanted corrected the most. I had a button nose and never asked for a pinched nose but that's what I got. My nose certainly doesn't look horrible but I just don't think he had the expertise to do what was needed.

This doctor did not produce results that last over time. The area I wanted fixed is unchanged, and the area I didn't ask to be changed is so collapsed that I can't breath through my nose at all anymore. Luckily it is so collapsed that insurance is covering the cost to fix with an ENT.
