Eight years after my first revision rhinoplasty,...

Eight years after my first revision rhinoplasty, my valves started to collapse, a balbous tip formed (rough cartilage points on the nose tip), and breathing became severely impaired. I decided I had to try one more time to get back to where I started. I travelled to different doctors for about 3 years, read a lot of patient reviews and chose Dr. Thomas Le. He had a good reputation, and I had confidence he was going to give my case 150% of his effort. This surgery is one of the most complicated performed, and Dr. Le does not give up. I cannot believe how beautiful he made my nose, but I can also breathe again. Nothing will be as good and perfect as your natural nose, but Dr. Le can clean up the mistakes of others and create a nose as perfect as natural. After reading about Dr. Le and doing my research, I trusted Dr. Le. The interview with him was brutal, and you have to answer each question one-by-one without getting flustered, without questioning his method; he has to interview you so that he can scientifically assess your goals and to assist with his surgical decisions. You have to trust your doctor, because are not the doctor, not the expert; I trusted Dr. Le, and I’m so happy I did. I don’t even think about how horrible my nose was before and how much of a struggle breathing had become. My surgery was 10 hours, and it was hard on my body in the short-term; I had collected fluid and numbness in my butt which stayed there for 2 months and had a discolored spot for 3 months. You have to be patient with your body and with your results and not freak out when the cast is removed. I looked like Avatar when my cast first came off. The swelling went down by half after the first week. There were still things concerning me, cartilage that I could feel inside my nose, breathing problems on the left – after another few weeks, more scabs came out of the left which I didn’t know were that far up there, and then breathing was good. The cartilage smoothed out inside my nose, and it steadily improved. From where I started, I am so happy where I am today. It is not a perfect nose by any means, and some cartilage curled up on the septum inside. Dr. Le says this can be shaved off during an in office procedure next year if I would like; but honestly, I may leave it and be happy with what we have accomplished. It is over 100 times better than it was before; it’s perfectly straight at all angles except when looking up my nose (not many have this view), there are no weird rough cartilage or bulbous points, my nostrils look good, and my columella is covered. Dr. Le's dedication to helping his patients and maximizing their potential results is both remarkable and rare, and I cannot say enough great things about him.
