37 Year-old Needed Long Overdue Eye Surgery - Baltimore, MD
ORIGINAL POST
I usually don't write reviews but I felt the need...
WORTH IT$4,300
I usually don't write reviews but I felt the need to share for those who may be on the fence with obtaining under eye bag removal surgery.
I've went back and forth for years on whether or not to go through it and I finally obtained the courage to do so a few month ago.
After meeting Dr. Randolph Capone, my mind was made up. He listened to my concerns and helped me to create realistic expectations/goals for my procedure. His staff was also wonderful and very supportive. The procedure was successful and honestly, I would have gotten it a long time had I consulted with Dr. Capone before. I appreciated his honesty and no-pressure approach the most. I am blessed and grateful.

You look great!! I am hoping to have my under eye bags removed towards the end of the year. I'm scared, but I'm tired of looking tired. LOL. Did you have internal sutures? How long did you have to take off from work?

April 6, 2016
Thanks!
Yes, I had internal sutures. I took 2 weeks off. Personally, I felt that that was the minimum. Luckily, I telework so I didn't have to go in every day even after I returned. I experienced light sensitivity for the first week along with itchy and watery eyes...and slight headaches the first couple days following the procedure. After that, I was fine.
Best wishes to you and your procedure! !

Thank you! Hearing your story is very encouraging! Good to know about the 2 weeks off.

Wow, you look amazing! I just had both lowers and uppers done 12 days ago, and I'm getting so impatient with the recovery! Did you have lumpiness under the eyes during the first two weeks? Also, what did you do for the eyeball irritation? Mine are constantly reddish and watery. I've been using over the counter lubrication drops, as doc sez, but doesn't seem to be getting a lot better. Did you use a steroid eyedrop? Sorry to ask so many questions. Your results are perfect and you are gorgeous! Inspiring :)

Thanks for the compliments!
Yes, I certainly had lumpiness. At one point, I even wondered if the bags were going to return. The best advice I could give is to give time, time. Dr. Capone explained that my face has just under went "trauma" and I had to allow my body time to heal... I found it helpful to look at pictures of myself pre-surgery to really keep things into perspective and not to worry too much. Also, I told myself, at least, 1-2 months, had to pass before I was allowed to express concerns. After the time passed, I saw that the areas of concern wasn't any longer. Both eyes healed at a different rate. Focusing on other stuff also helps to take your mind off of worries.
Re: eye irritation, I was prescribed eye ointment to use the first 2-3 days following the procedure. I ended up using it more to coat my eyes as it was thicker than the otc eye lubricant. The only downside was it created increased eye guck. I didn't find the eye lubricant helpful much. Also, keeping your head elevated is important.
Hope this helps! Feel better :)

I forgot to add, I'm not sure if the eye lube had steroids or not but it was medication, so it's possible. I was given permission to use them instead of the otc drops.

Thanks so much for the info. I just had my two-week(ish) follow up appt this morning. My Dr said the same thing yours did about time and trauma, and that all my various bumps/swelling would eventually subside. I'm sure they're used to getting these same questions every day from anxious patients. I'll follow your advice give my eyes 1-2 months amnesty from worry/panic :) Thanks again and enjoy your fab results! Beth

Oh, by the way, for some reason under the headline of your review there's a thumbs-down icon saying "not worth it." I have a feeling you didn't mean to say that, so just letting you know ;)

I saw that thumbs down lol. I thought someone else put it! I will remove it. Thanks!

Hi Angie, is it possible for me to edit the verbiage in my post. I need to make a correction. The doctor who treated me first name is Randolph and I have Ralph.
If it's not possible for me to make the change, can you make the change on my behalf? thanks.

Before surgery
Just added 2 photos to show my face prior to surgery. In pictures, smiling usually would help to hide the bags...
Hope this helps!

You look beautiful. Did the doc just remove the bags or did he cut/lift the skin too?
Also, did he put filler in your cheeks?
Thanks!

Thanks!
Dr. Capone JUST removed the bags/fat inside of my eyes. That's it! Nothing extra. No additional skin was cut/lifted or removed. No filler in my cheeks lol.

I can actually relate to you regarding the makeup. Prior to the procedure, I HAD to wear under eye makeup as the bags caused redness. Since the procedure, I don't have to wear any (like the old days lol) and I love it!! And I had the same fear as you re: "altering"
my face. My friends/family are saying that I look more "refreshed." I haven't received any negative reactions and I absolutely love my face and I'm so happy that I finally went through with it. I don't have to worry about people saying that I look "tired" or "sleepy." This procedure was very near and dear to my heart...
