I am a white, 43 year old mom of three from Baltimore Maryland. When I visited Dr. Dean Kane’s office for my Cool-sculpting consultation I felt like a broken woman. I was unhappy with how my stomach looked and no matter what I did (exercise, dieting) I just couldn’t get rid of that last bit of stomach flab after the birth of my youngest. My pants did not fit comfortably and I was so tired of not being able to wear what I wanted. It was very depressing and I couldn’t figure out what to do and I was tired of living with it. I knew that surgery wasn’t for me, so when I heard about Cool-sculpting I thought, maybe now I can get rid of this flab! Well-that’s exactly what happened. Dr. Kane thought I was a perfect candidate for this procedure, as it would freeze away the stubborn fat that was there for years. A technician named Joy was slated to perform my procedure, which was quickly scheduled within two weeks. I had it done on two areas of my abdomen, left and right side of my belly button, with the regular size applicator. Both machines were on my abdomen at the same time and the procedure lasted about 2 hours. Initially when the applicators were positioned they “vacuumed” in the fat. It felt cold, like an ice pack was on my stomach, but then that feeling dissipated and it really was un-noticeable. During the procedure, the machines essentially “sucked up” the fat and froze those cells. I was completely comfortable the whole time and chatted with my friend and read magazines. When the procedure was finished and the machines came off, Joy manipulated the “frozen fat cells”. She described it as feeling like squishing a frozen bag of peas. For me, this was the only part that was a bit uncomfortable. Not really painful, just a weird feeling. Joy said that I would start to notice results within about 4weeks and that my body would naturally eliminate those dead fat cells. I left the office excited and resumed normal activities the next day. The fact that there was essentially no down-time was a big plus for me. I had slight bruising in the area, and it was tender to the touch, but no other issues. After a few weeks I could see the results and it was awesome! I would highly recommend wearing a “spanx-like” girdle, post-procedure. It helped keep everything contained around the treated area. I am absolutely thrilled at my results from Cool-sculpting! My abdomen has shrunk significantly and there is no more muffin-top. Even my waistline has appeared again. I feel comfortable in my clothes and enjoyed buying myself a new bikini to wear at the pool. Cool-sculpting really jump-started the transformation back to my old self. I highly recommend it!
