Results Following my Breast and Arm Lift After a 230 Lb Weight Loss Brought Me to Tears...happy Tears! Baltimore, MD

I began my weight loss journey in October of 2103 at my highest weight of 391lbs. I lost a significant amount during the 6 months before bariatric surgery while in the Comprehensive Obesity Management Program at GBMC with the amazing Elizabeth Dovec, MD. I underwent laproscopic RNY surgery in March 2014 at 325lbs. I have lost a total of 230 lbs over the last 2 1/2 years, and am at my goal weight of 160lbs. I want to achieve and maintain the best results possible, so in addition to finding a great plastic surgeon, Dr Rottman; being at a stable goal weight was an important factor in my decision to move forward with plastic surgery. My motivation for wanting to have plastic surgery post massive weight loss is apparent from these pre surgery pics...they speak a thousand words....I've included several pics from one week post op arm and breast lift. Two drains were removed 6 days post -op; note the band-aids, and the 2 remaining drains which are still in place and visible at waist level on my sides will be removed next week. Pain has been very manageable, and I am only on Tylenol at this point. I was sooo happy to finally shower, and used an eyeglass lariat from the dollar store to hold the drains securely while I was undressed.....worked great!

My experience with Dr. Steven Rottman has thus far been exemplary! My bariatric surgeon recommended him highly, stating that after seeing many examples of his work, she felt he is an "artist". I knew at my consultation that he was a good fit for me, and booked my first procedures for a breast and arm lift that same day. Dr. Rottman has a quiet, respectful, and gentle demeanor, and discussed my options, and the potential outcomes with me thoroughly, and in an unhurried manner. His office staff, including Brooke, and others, have been kind, and very considerate of my needs throughout the consultation, booking and payment process, ordering and providing post op compression garments as needed , and making follow up appointments. Being a health care professional myself, I appreciated Dr. Rottmans' willingness to make care decisions for me in consultation with my health care advocate while I recovered from anesthesia post-op. He also checked on me personally the morning after surgery while still hospitalized , and contacted me almost daily via text, to check on my progress at home. I have felt well cared for and found him available to answer questions or address concerns. I am thrilled with my results thus far, and appreciate Dr. Rottmans' eye for perfectionism. and anticipate only more refined results as I heal and progress forward on my journey. Thank you so much!
