I have been searching for a Rhinoplasty surgeon to augment my low dorsum and lengthen the nasal tip. Thanks to many realself members here who have given me so much useful information about their experiences. I am very lucky to have chosen Dr.Thomas Le as my surgeon. During my consultation, Dr.Le was very patience and asked me many questions to find out exactly what changes I wanted to make to my nose. I told him what I want and also said that I want a natural looking asian nose so that no one will notice. He show me many different before and after pictures, some are noses similar to mine and others are complicated Caucasian revision cases. I was very impressed by the B/A pictures. He also did a computer simulation of the nose I wanted. After the consultation, he sent me a long detailed proposal about my surgery. when I emailed him with questions, I was surprised he ask me to call him. We talked about my concerns for 2 hours. I thought about it for a couple of days and paid a deposits for the surgery. Also during this time I met a member from real self, she had a botched nose Job for about one year and was desperately looking for a good revision rhinoplasty surgeon. I told her to consult Dr.Le and she did her surgery with Dr.Le shortly after her consultation. Okay, I will skip some detailes here. She was so generous to send me her pictures every week because she wanted to thank me for referring her to Dr.Le. Her pictures gave me more confident about my decision. During my pre-op Dr.Le did detail measurements on my nose, eyes , lips and took notes so that he can get as close to the computer simulation as possible. After the surgery, Dr.Le told me everything went well and he got very close to the computer simulation. My recovery was smooth, I can breath immediately after the surgery and I have no pain. It is important you let the anesthesiologist know if you will feel nauseous after the anesthesia so that he can give you something before and after surgery to feel better. I just got my cast removed yesterday and I was so happy with my result. It is still very swollen, but I can see it will continue to look better. I am so grateful we have such talented rhinoplasty surgeon on the east coast and also great at augmenting beautiful natural asian noses with rib cartilages.

Congratulations! I wish you good healing. Did you have rib grafts or ear/septal grafts?

Thanks for the reply! Would you care to tell more? Do you know how thick (in mms) your graft is? Is it covered with perichondrium? How does your nose and rib feel?

Not sure how many mms, it was wrap in perichondrium. Currently my nose feels very stiff and have some uneven swelling. I had almost no pain after surgery, only a little sore for the first 3 days on my chest where the incision was made. The scar on my chest is about 2 inches long.

If you are going to post to help others on the same journey, please just post the whole picture. It looks so weird and ridiculous with just a nose showing. No one is going to judge you since anyone looks you up is thinking about doing the same surgery. Without the whole picture of the face, it is hard to tell the result. It really annoys me. either not posting or posting it properly.

Well, it annoys YOU, but other people, like myself, prefer seeing this kind of photos over seeing no photos at all. In revision rhinoplasty very very few people share photos, so don't say "either not posting or posting it properly".

I forgot to mention that I was suggested para-nasal implant by another doctor to augment the sunken area around my upper lip area. But when Dr.Le lengthened and projected my nose,my upper lip area was plumped up as well.

Thank you so much for sharing this! That's what I'm hoping will happen if I get a revision. My nose was over-reduced (shortened, deprojected, etc.) and my upper lip/nasal spine area became sunken and upper lip looks longer and covers teeth.
Looks GREAT! Thank you so much for sharing!
