Willow, I was concerned that my face seemed to slowly fall after the mini lifts and Dr. Gordon made a great point, anything that is done in a quick short cut way can’t possibly last. I’ve actually have 2 of those mini lifts in the past, one was called an S-lift and the other a MAC lift they were 5 years apart and neither lasted, Rather than aging from that point it all just dropped over time. They don’t separate the skin far enough in and the sutures sort of let go. I wish you luck with yours and thank you for the kind words.

And how did you feel about the one you paid for compared to the 3 you did not. Did you feel at anytime you were being "sold" plastic surgery and if so run!!! I have had botched surgery in the past and it always came with a free consult. I think if someone is good they shouldn’t have to offer a free consult. There are a lot of people shopping for the best price or who are just not serious, this weeds them out for the really good surgeons.

Well today was my last consult - I have made a downpayment with Dr. Athre. He was recommended by my surgeon that removed basal cell carcinoma from my nose, so I feel somewhat comforted. He only performs facial surgery. Date is 11/5! I agreed to browlift, neck and facelift and a chemical peel. He was recommending a laser peel but it looked and sounded very aggressive, probably the worst part about all the proceedures, so I opted to go with the peel instead since I'll be inside for two weeks anyway. He will secure the muscles in all areas. I liked his mannerisms and staff - it was complimentary. Perhaps in Houston there is so much 'need' for cosmetic surgery, very few surgeons charge for a consult? Hearing from so many Dr's gave me a good idea of what I liked and disliked regarding their recommendations, so all is not lost on the legwork. I'll keep you posted. I appreciate your feedback.

If he was recommended by another doctor I would feel very confident in him. Vicki as Benni has mentioned in below comment there are probably many skilled and wonderful surgeons out there that offer free consults. The "beware of the free consult” comment is just my own opinion and my own experience. I’m sure with the extensive research you have done on who you feel comfortable with to do your surgery you will have beautiful results. I agree the laser is aggressive, and you have enough going on with face, brow and neck for one surgery. I had CO2 laser done about 17 years ago with a lift when they first came out and it was much more painful than the surgery. I may try laser or aggressive phenol peel after the fact though for wrinkle the lift did not address but not sure yet, my husband is telling my STOP!!!! already.

Karla, My surgeon was very conservative when I wanted to add things to the lift, he said to wait and see how each step turns out, address needs as they come along. It will be a bit more expensive that way but I certainly don’t want to look like Fay Dunaway or another overdone mask face. Thank you for your compliments.
