I was a test patient for Artefil/Belafill in 2008. I had one+ syringes injected to my nasal labial lines and chin area. The results still remain today after 8 years !!! But today I went to en experienced and highly rated plastic surgeon who practices using the latest techniques and tools. Dr Victoria Falcone from Cherry Hill/Philadephia areas used 2 syringes of Belafill to my temple and cheeks areas. I originally requested 3 syringes but she took her time and great care injecting 2 vials. She handed me a mirror and we both agreed that I had achieved my desired end result. I love my cheeks ! Somehow the doctor worked some magic and was able to attain significant results with little product. I am going back to her office for some lip filler and will be a patient for life.

Shelley did you do anything for your jawline or did the filler give it a great lift? I would be curious to know! Thanks
April 10, 2016
I had a little bit of Bellafill sprinkled on my jawline

But I want more injected in front of and behind my ear.
That would have a lifting effect.

The woman who does the injecting teaches others around the area so she's good. She mentioned Bellafill one time. In December, they had a Botox party with discounts on a lot of things, so went and prepaid for two syringes (one on each cheek) of Voluma and a syringe of Juviderm. I know the Voluma will give the jaws a lift but I don't know if that's where I should focus on the Juviderm or use that money for Bellafill. What do you think? I can send you a photo privately. I think your jawline looks great : )

Behind the ear is interesting. I never thought about that, but your jaws appear in good shape. I'm going to tell Connie, who does the injecting about doing it behind the ear. I agree that it would be a good effect. Thanks for telling me about that.

I watch a lot of You Tube videos. There's a derm who features numerous educational videos on aging and fillers etc. He says to start at the temples, then cheeks etc. . Dr Anil Rajani.

I tried Belafill in my cheek area as a means of correcting long-standing Naso-Labial folds about 9 months or more ago. I have had my naso-labial folds directly injected into those lines with other substances from time to time over the years, but nothing really got rid of them. I was hoping that putting Belafill into my hollow cheeks would lift that area up --this seems to be a newer, more sensible approach these days than just injecting the fold itself. Well, I don't think the doctor used enough Belafill because my cheeks remained hollow and I saw no improvement. I thought that the amount I paid was really too much for not getting any improvement, and the only thing to do would be a mini-face lift. For that I needed a surgeon, not a dermatologist. But the surgeon thought I should inject the lines and lips with Restylane instead of a face lift, because most of my face is okay. In could only inject the lower lips and lines because the upper lip had a little but on the Vermillion Border. Oddly enough, I do see an improvement in my facial appearance, but the hollow cheeks are still there. I don't know why that doctor did not address that. I called to make an appointment with the dermatologist who injected the Benefill, thinking that perhaps I did not get enough on my first visit. I am wondering if that would be okay to do after only 2 weeks of Restylane on the Nasolabial folds. I don't know of any interactions that could be caused by injecting differenc types of fillers like that.

The older you get the more volume you loose. I had 4 syringes of Bellafill injected this year and one syringe in 2008. Each syringe contains 0.8 ml of product versus the the typical 1 ml from other fillers. But its permanent. I think its worth it. I had one syringe of Voluma in November 2015 applied to my cheeks. I watch alot of derm videos. Thats how I determine my path for my derm teatments
You are correct in saying that treating the cheeks and temples can improve nasal labial folds and undereye area. I got Bellafill injectes to my temples to give me and eye lift.

Still have slight swelling. But I think I will love the end result. On November 30th of 2015 I received one syringe of Voluma to the Apple of my cheeks and temples. But my right temple had 3 lumps that remained. I think Voluma is a thicker filler and not appropriate for use in the temples. I saw my dermatologist and she injected hylaraundaise or something that sounds like that to dissolve the lumps. It did not work. SOOOOOO my Belafill treatment was placed around the lumps.
My final result will be my return visit to Dr Victoria Falcone in the Fall.

The doctor that injected Voluma to my temples was NOT Dr Victoria Falcone

So is Voluma good for the cheeks? I hear that it is.
February 4, 2016
It is ! It's great. Uplifting and long lasting.

I had Bellafill five weeks ago and I see a two lumps. They are not too bad but hoping they dissipate.
January 24, 2016
From a Doctor on Realself, swelling lumps aND bumps almost always resolve in 3 months. His name is Dr Windle. I thinks he has an office in WA state.

Thank you !

Bellefill is not reversible.

Shelly, I just had my first injections ever and I used Bellafill. I'm so scared. What can you tell me to calm me about your experience.
April 24, 2016
I had one syringe in 2008 with no complications. And that syringe is still keeping my smile lines at bay. Then this year I had four more syringes. Very happy.
April 25, 2016
I had 3 syringes. 1 in both my cheeks, 1 in marionette lines and 1 in corners of mouth. So scared after reading reviews. I didn't realize this was a permanent filler. I totally blame myself for this. I don't see any real results yet but it's only been 3 days. So scared.
April 25, 2016
You will be fine. It has a five year safety profile. Very rare complications. I never had an issue in 8 years
April 27, 2016
Thanks Shelley. All of my bruising has resolved but I do see where there is either swelling or perhaps more filler on one side than the other. It's noticeable more to me than anyone else but it's not bad. It feels odd so I'm hoping it is swelling and will resolve. Other than that I feel normal. Thanks for your reply.
June 21, 2016
Did you bruise?
June 21, 2016
No. Light swelling maybe.

You look so pretty, thank you for sharing! What procedure are you planning for the fall?

January 6, 2016
I am getting lip filler in February and more Bellafil in December. I want to add some more Bellafil to my temples and sides of my cheeks. By December, my Voluma injection should be dissolved by then.
