7 Weeks Post Op Mother of 5 - Bal Harbour, FL

By this time I was six months. I called the office and voiced my concerns about a few problems I had. I was suppose to have an appt with doc anyway so the receptionist scheduled it earlier for me. She was very kind. I saw Dr. Salzhauer and told him I didn't understand why my stomach was still big, I had a dent on my right cheek, my back wasn't smooth, and I didn't have a much of a projection . He said my stomach muscles are weak. They can't be fix with lipo and he doesn't recommend tummy tuck. Because tt is for people who have a lot of loose skin and excess fat and I don't have any. I said how about a mini tuck? He said no cause that's for people with little fat and loose skin below the stomach, and that wasn't me. So he said he would do a revision for the dent, my back, and projection. He said I didn't have a lot of fat I might not get the projection I want. He said he would lipo upper inner thighs and bannana roll. Doctors usually say to gain some weight, to have the extra fat. Yet, he didn't even advise me to do that.

I was 3 months post op. By this time I didn't have to use a pillow anymore to sit. Even though doc told me from the last appt I can stop using the pillow at 4 weeks, I stopped at 6 weeks. My hubby still went with me to the appt. I usually plan the appts around when he's not working. We didn't wait long to be called. His assistant took some pics of me again. She cheched my body. I told her I don't understand why my stomach is still big and my upper back doesn't look smooth. She said I'm still swollen and she can feel it at the arch of my lower back and when the swelling is gone I'm going to have more projection. I don't see how it's going to happen. I guess we'll see. I'm thinking at 3 months all the swelling should be gone. I've seen pictures of other girls my size that their stomach went down almost completely at 4 weeks.
I think my stomach at 3 months is bigger than at 1 month. It should be going down not getting bigger. I'm eating the usual food I usually eat. I'm watching my weight. It can't be because I'm eating too much. Even if I was, the extra weight should be going to my butt. Dr. Salzhauer had told me the first 5-10lbs goes to the butt. I asked her many cc he put in. She said it doesn't say it in my file.
She told me my next appt is in 3 months. I said I'm not going to see Dr. Salzhauer today. She said if I want to see him then she'll call him because he's in surgery. I was thinking why didn't she tell me that before. I was under the assumption I was going to be seen by him because the other times he's always been there. It was a little weird that she was ready to be done with me without mentioning he wasn't going to see me. I like everyone that I've encountered in the office. Everyone is nice. Dr. Salzhauer is extremely nice and handsome. He looks better in person than the pic he has on Realself. If only I was Jewish and not married and he wasn't married, I would have a piece of that, lol.

I had my post op appt two weeks after the last. At that time I was 1month. My husband drove me and I laid on my stomach in the back of the car. We waited a little bit to see him. His assistant took some pics of me. She said I can start to sit now without the pillow. I said I thought I'm suppose to wait for 6 weeks. She said no, it's 4 weeks. 6 weeks is the length of time to use the garment. I forgot to mention at the last appt doc said I can wear the garment half of the day, morning or night. Doc came in, checked me and said I can sit w/o pillow now. I asked him about my back and stomach. He said I still have some swelling there and some people it takes longer. I asked him if I should use Mederma for scars. He said he doesn't really like it, but he'll prescribe a stronger scar ointment. There's a company they use, they'll give them my info and they call me. Doc said the copay w my insurance shouldn't be a lot. He told me to come back when I'm 3 months. I asked his assistant for some new foams cause the others got a little dirty.
