WORTH IT
I can't begin to explain the level of satisfaction, joy, and confidence that Dr. Krau has given me. So I had my initial consultation with Dr. Krau back in Sept. 2015. Of course, I checked my options with other surgeons, but my gut and my heart told me to go with Dr. Krau (aside from the fact that I loved his before/ after photos that are on his website). Although I decided to do my surgery with him, I was extremely skeptical about going under the knife because it would be my first time. In January I finally made my decision to schedule and I had my surgery on 3/15/16. I went in for a breast reduction, with a lift and an implant. I was a 38DD (on a good day), and Dr. Krau clearly explained what I should expect during the initial consultation, which would be the anchor incision. Initially, I was not thrilled hearing that news, but after hearing the reasons why that was my best option (severely sagging skin, and lots of breast tissue), I was much more open to the idea. So I went in for my pre-ops 2 weeks before surgery, and his nurse, Sonia, was a dream. Very nice, attentive, patient, and most importantly, INFORMATIVE. She gave me all of the details and answered 90% of the questions I had written down before I even asked. She answered all of my questions and put me at ease. On the day of surgery I was called to come in earlier than the time I was scheduled. Of course I was nervous but I rushed right over. I went in with my mom and immediately saw Dr. Krau and he re-examined me. He marked me up, and answered any question I had, as well as any questions my mom had. Shortly after, the anesthesiologist came in to explain how I'd be feeling and again, helped put me at ease. Immediately after, he walked me over to the OR, and I met Nora, the OR Nurse who is also very nice. I laid on the gurney or whatever they're called, and the anesthesiologist explained everything he was doing step by step. We all joked around a bit until I drifted off to la-la-land. The next thing I knew, I woke up to Sonia and my mom telling me it was time to go home. I was not in excruciating pain, but the pressure I felt on my chest was like no other. I went in for my follow-up the next day and when the surgical bra came off, I wanted to cry out of happiness. My breasts look 100% better than before the surgery, and this was less than 24 hours after surgery. I was given post-op instructions (which they give you at the pre-ops, and day of surgery), and given an appointment to come back in a week to remove tapes and gauze. I went back in today and wanted to do a backflip when I saw what they looked like. Absolutely FANTASTIC! I'm healing well so far, and everyday it's easier to manage my daily tasks. My friends and family absolutely LOVE how they look! I know that if I were to ever consider having another procedure, I would put all of my trust in Dr. Krau. I've got beautiful breasts that have more of a natural look than a fake look (which is what I ultimately wanted). I'm still swollen so I won't know my bra size for some time, but it looks like the small D cup that I wanted. Dr. Krau, THANK YOU for being YOU! Thank you for your amazing staff, and your top of the line work. I couldn't be happier!

1month follow/up
Lea0924April 16, 2016
So on Wednesday 4/13 was my one month follow up with Dr. Krau. I was immediately taken to a room where I'd change so that he could examine his work. Dr. Krau quickly came in to see how I was doing and examined my breasts. He noticed some stiffness and said there's no capsular contracture, however, I needed to move my arms more and get into the moves of normal daily living. Obviously still no chest work outs or lifting anything over 20 lbs. I can now do anything involving cardio, just no chest work. I'm allowed to use lotion (I peeled a lot) and purchased the biocorneum for my anchor scar. I had some concerns with my right boob feeling like it shifted into my armpit, but Dr. Krau reassured me that the implant is in its place. He said he still felt mi stitches and some tightness and suggested I move my arms around more. Dr Krabu also mentioned that at the moment they're a little flat, but it'll take some time (maybe even a year) for them to fluff out into their teardrop shape. Overall, I'm happy that they look 100% better than before!

You look great how you take care the incions because i been looking in other ladys that they get the incions open
April 24, 2016
Hi! I followed all of my post-op instructions. For the first 2 days, I was not allowed to wet them. Afterwards I washed my incisions with Dial antibacterial soap. Although using that soap was not part of my post-op instructions, I had to use it the day of surgery and since I bought he body wash, I just kept using it to wash my boobs until I finished it. During the first week, I had gauze on, so after the first 2 days when I was able to take a full shower, I made sure to dry all of the gauze and tapes with a blow dryer after showering. Although it was extremely annoying and time consuming, I know that a wet gauze on an open wound can cause an infection. Also, it's important not to use any scar scream, lotions, oils, or ointments for the first 4 weeks (based on what I was told and what I've read on the Internet). Because the wounds are fresh, I think it's best to let them breathe as much as possible during the first 4 weeks. I know moisturize by popping vitamin E capsules directly on my boobs, or use raw organic coconut oil, and supplement either method with biocorneum. I won't use the Vitamin E capsules twice a day because it's too dense, but the coconut oil is good enough to use multiple times a day.

How long did it take for your breast to heal??
April 29, 2016
Hi!! I'm still not fully healed yet. It's only been 6 weeks since my surgery. All wounds are closed, but it'll take a few months for the actual scars to fully heal. I'd say that by the 3rd week I no longer had scabs, but it's all just a healing process. Right now, my scars itch like crazy, but again, it's all a part of healing and nerves regenerating. I also have no sensation in my areola, and there's no definite answer as to when it'll come back (I'm hoping soon). I do experience a sharp sensation every once in a while and I was told that it's a sign that I'll get the sensation back, but I just have to wait.

Hi! I'm still at a 38D right now, and I love them. I did have my surgery in the private office. Dr. Krau's staff is very welcoming and reassuring. I was extremely nervous before my surgery. They called me the day of surgery and asked me to come in earlier since their first appointment was canceled. Everything happened so quickly (in a good way) that I remember going in, being marked up by the doctor, he explained everything thoroughly to me, had the anesthesiologist come in and explain everything to me and the next thing I knew I woke up with a great set of boobs! Lol!

But you walk to operation room or the put some relax medicine on the room i am ready for this but i am super scared

They walk you over to the OR in the office, you lays down on the bed and the anesthesiologist starts explaining what he's doing. He gives you a medication that makes you feel a little woozy (kinda like you're sleepy and drunk) but still awake. It relaxes and calms you down, meanwhile they're still talking to you helping you get comfortable, then Dr. Krau comes in and they tell you that they're putting you to sleep. Next thing you know, you're awake and it feels like only 5 minutes passed, but the surgery is over and the nurse is making sure you're ok and giving you (and the person who is taking you home) your post-op instructions.

Wow you look great!! Cant wait to do mine!! I have an appt for a consultation with DR.Kraw on Friday, hoping to schedule the surgery for Oct of this year. How long did he say before going back to work or daily activities?! How long before you felt ready to go back?! I work as a nurse and Im planning to take 3 weeks off but im afraid it mag not be enough!

Hi! I had my surgery on a Tuesday and went back to work the following Monday which was around the time I felt ready to go back to work. Driving will be uncomfortable at first (mainly when making turns). I was told not to lift anything above 5lbs for the first month. I thought it would be easy to follow until I went into the kitchen and grabbed a gallon of milk. My goodness! I didn't know that chest muscles were involved in that and sooooo many other daily activities. Dr. Krau probably won't want you to massage your boobs like many other doctors recommend you do. He wants them to drop naturally. However, he will want you to move your arms around (starting on day 1) so that you help the implant settle and get your range of motion back. Right now at almost 7 weeks post-op, what I have the most trouble with is sleeping. I've slept on my stomach and without a pillow my whole life. I was told not to sleep on my stomach for 3 months, and week 1 after surgery you're supposed to be on your back at a 30° angle. I can try sleeping on my sides now, but I just find it uncomfortable because I'm just not used to feeling something inside my chest. I think that 3 weeks may be good, but it all depends on how well you're recovering. Since you're a nurse, you're on your feet a lot so keep in mind that you won't be walking at your normal pace for at least a month. Bending forward will also be uncomfortable, but make sure you start moving your arms after surgery so that reaching for things will be much easier for you to do once you're back at work. Good luck!!! And let me know if you have any other questions!
