First off, I'd like to thank everyone who has...

First off, I'd like to thank everyone who has written a review on RealSelf, they've helped me immensely. About me: I'm 18 (recently graduated), 5'7" and 155lbs. Like most of you, I "bloomed" early at 11yrs old, in a few months I went from an A cup to a DD; and I've been growing (and suffering) ever since. I'm now a 32H, with chronic back pain, poor self esteem and limited social life. I go to a chiropractor twice a month and have gone to physical therapy multiple times. I also recently found out that large breasts can cause migraines; which I've suffered from for many years.
I've wanted this surgery since I was 15, and I took the plunge a week after my 18th birthday to make an appointment with my GP on November 2nd. I went in and she examined my breast and put in a referral for a plastic surgeon. She was very neutral about it, but she's pretty much always neutral about everything. I have Kaiser insurance in southern California, and it's always been sub par, at best.
About a week later I got the referral in the mail. It gave me an appointment with Dr Freeman on December 2nd. I went in and was showed to a room by a nurse who took a picture of my face and started my file. She then gave me a paper gown to put on and told me the doc was going to be there soon.
I waited about 30 min. before the doc came in. He finished off the questions for my file, and then examined my breasts. He agreed I was suffering from breast hypertrophy and, after I covered up, he explained the procedure and possible risks. He answered all my (many) questions patiently, and seemed very positive my insurance would cover the reduction. He said I would probably end up as a small C to a D, to match my frame, which is just what I was hoping for. I was then taken to a different room for pictures of my breasts and was allowed to get dressed after.
The nurse then lead me to set up a surgery date. I was at the end of my deductible, so I requested something before the end of the year. I didn't have much hope for that, but she was surprisingly able to squeeze me in on December 9th (one week!). She gave me a number to call and set an appointment to pre register at the hospital and told me she would call within 3 days to let me know if my insurance approved or not. Every one there was so friendly and professional, they made sure I never felt uncomfortable or rushed. It was definitely a step up from my usual experience with Kaiser. Total appointment time: 1hr 30min.
I pre registered today (Dec. 4th), just filled out a bunch of forms and had some blood drawn. While I was there, I got the news that my insurance approved the surgery! I was so happy, I couldn't believe it! That cut my cost down from $7,000 to about $600. The nurse gave me the rundown on what to do and what not to do, and what would happen the day of the surgery. It was all pretty straight forward, I was in and out in 45min.
I am so surprised at how quickly and easily everything is going. I was dreading fighting with my insurance and 3+ months of waiting for a surgery date. It's all been wonderful, and I'm trying not to look a gift horse in the mouth. I am incredibly nervous (it's all happening so fast!), but I'm even more excited. If anyone could give me some advice, quick tips, or even some simple encouragement, I'd really appreciate it.
