Had mentor smooth saline implants 2/2010. After experience array of symptoms: vertigo, dizziness, nerve pain in back, chronic dry eyes, chronic sore throat, cold hands and feet, left breast pain, left pain in arm and
down leg, swollen fingers daily, food allergies, chronic acid reflux, left facial pain, extreme fatigue, etc. My husband thought I
was dying and I did too. Neither of us
expressed our thoughts to one another until
after I explanted and was improving. He is
the one who did the reasearch on the
internet and insisted he believed I was sick due to my implants. I reviewed his findings
and was hoping he was right. I explanted 2/2013. Today I have improved 90 percent but its that 10 percent of residual ailments that reminds me daily of the mistake I made. You can buy boobs but not your health.

I'm taking my breast implants out too. I have been so fatigued and have weird joint pains and other RA symptoms. I'm interviewing docs now. Guess what they still think you can't sick from your implants. But I truly feel there is a connection. I don't just have fatigue. My fatigue is so bad that in order to get through the afternoon I have to guzzle a red bull or I feel that I'm going to fall asleep at the wheel. I have done numerous tests and it's not sleep apnea and not hormones. It's this silicone shell that surrounds my saline implants. I have lost about 10 years of my life to this extreme fatigue. My dr says it's due to an old mono virus and adtenal fatigue. Sou question is did you have the capsule removed and drains put in. The first PS I went to says that's not necessary.

Also I am so happy for you that you had yours taken out and you are getting to live without pain!!

Yes capsules and drains. I myself didn't have the drains but after reading susan kolb md book on "the naked truth about implants" I know it should be done. You can see her video on the net if you google her. Good luck! Warm wishes on your health.

Thank you!

Susan kolb is located in atlanta, GA. I would highly recommend her. She has had both silicone and saline implants and has experience with removing capsules and possible lymph nodes that are effected. Please Google here. Go to the best if I were you. It may be costly but she will also aims in detoxification and will give you feedback on findings which may be surprising.

I had a consult for removal of my Stage 4 Capsular Contraction. Doc was sort of shocked that I had lived with them for almost 11 years. They are checking to see if my insurance will cover the explant. If not, I still plan to have the bowling balls removed from my chest. I also have symptoms of back pain and fatigue. Thought it was just because I'm getting older, but surgeon said I will feel so much better once they are out. He didn't try to sell me on having new implants or a lift. He said to wait and see how I feel after they are out. Can't wait!!!!!!!!!!

Hoping your insurance will cover the cost. Wishing you well and a speedy recovery!

I'm SO glad you shared your experience on RealSelf. And very happy to hear you are feeling better. Did your doctor remove your capsules as well?

I got saline implants in 2010. I have been diagnosed with Sjogrens and am now being tested for mitochondria disease. I had the symptoms before the implants. It's all so confusing. I'm like the bionic woman, I have saline implants, a titanium cage in my back, a gastric band in place since 2003. It sure makes me wonder. I'm out of work on disability because of chronic pain that never went away since my back surgery in 2004 and a fix in 2006.

I got diagnosed with sjogrens 1 month prior to explant. But since explant my dry eyes are not as bad or often. No gritty feeling in my eyes anymore. My throat still bothers me some but nothing like before. No plaqnil med anymore. So the implants definately made it worse for me. Although many people may be fine with implants , there are some that are ill, getting ill or deathly ill and they dont have any idea that its the implants that" Maybe "the cause. My P.S told me he didnt want to do a lift with explant becuase he was concerned how I would heal. He told me" When" I feel better in a year and if I want it he would do it then.
