6 months!!!!!! ahhhhhh!

WORTH IT$4,600
It has been almost 6 months since I decided to change my life for the better. On April 1st, 2014, I decided to have the gastric sleeve surgery in Tijuana, Mexico. I have focused on my nutrition, changed my bad eating habits and stayed consistent with working out. I have officially disappeared a whole 76.6 lbs!! I've gone from a size 22 (barely fitting) jeans to a size 12, 44DD bra to 36DD, 3-4x shirts to large.

I'm 27 years old and and I have three kids. I've always been one of the younger moms in the stands because my step son is 11 years old. Other baseball & football moms that were almost twice my age could've kicked my butt at any athletic task. I hated stairs, my knees hurt, forget running, bending over to pick something up was out of the question. I was overweight and I felt like I was "old" and incapable.

Since I had the surgery,
I now play indoor soccer

Do you have to go to Mexico for check-ups? Could you do them here in the US? I am from Kansas, I had a consult and have decided I want the surgery but the cost is $16,000 with the surgeon I talked too.

Prior to me doing my sleeve I just made sure I told my PCP I was having a sleeve done "out of state" and if she would follow up with me. She said yes. So she does my labs every three months. I also scheduled an appointment to see a gastro surgeon when I got back to make sure my healing was going ok. I never told any of them I had it done in Mexico because Mexico has this bad reputation even though they have very qualified doctors there. So I just kept saying "out of state"... They would ask why, and I'd say oh well it was cheaper than here. So they thought I had it done in the US. And they cared for me no different...

No I did mine in Houston. Surgery was Thursday. Pain was an 8 just for the first few hours. After I was able to walk around a bit it helped. By that night my pain was 5 or so. Most of the pain was from gas and feeling bruised. As of today I feel really good, pain is a 1 if at all. I cannot believe how different I feel already from not having all the junky food in me! I am very tired even just waking around the house but I just nap a lot, it seems to help. Thank you for asking!!

Wow, you are beautiful, and thanks. The pricing varies between $4,500 to $7,000 for some of these doctors in Mexico. This doctor is also reasonable. Did you fly in from San Diego?
August 4, 2014
Hi! Yes! Super reasonable. I flew from dfw to San Diego. They picked me up from the airport and within 30 minutes, we were at the hotel with the coordinator :) one of the best decisions I've ever made for myself

August 4, 2014
Thank you Lauren! I felt like it was getting out of control. I was definitely heading down a very dangerous path :( I wouldn't ever consider changing my decision of having the surgery.

I've noticed I'm hitting a stall the week I have my period. I had a nightmare the other night, about my sleeve, but awoke to find that I was, if course, perfectly fine. :)
I am now 65.2 lbs down. I'm losing .5-1.2 lbs per day until I started my period today. I've been taking one water pill per week. I'm going to take another tonight because I feel bloated. I drink a ruin off water though, so I'm not worried about getting enough in. I bought a bunch of snack foods to help when leaving the house. Some are a little high in carbs, but I eat more carbs than this when I bring nothing with me.

I've got some photos from this week :)
