I had always had nice breasts, but after loosing 130lbs and the passing of years, I've lost them. I want to have breast augmentation done to resurrect my D flats. My surgeon told me that to get the look I want I will need to have breast augmentation along with mastopexy (a breast lift).
My husband asked me what I wanted for Christmas and I told him 'new boobs'. He laughed, but said that if that's what I wanted he would do that for me. Ever since then, that's about all I can think about.
I'm so excited. Tomorrow I go in for my preop meeting. I know we will discuss size, type, shape, texture and many other things. I will post before photos later.

I am very excited. I don't think I'm nervous. Not yet anyway. Thank you for the welcome. I tend to be rather modest, so it's been kind of embarrasing for me letting someone take pictures of my naked breasts, even though it was my husband. I'm not sure how to post them here, but I do have some to share.

I have shared some before photos and some 'wish' boob shots, but it was a real struggle for me. Please continue to comment for me, sometimes I need reassurance and feedback. Thank you Sheila.

I'm very happy to continue supporting you! Have you shared your plans with your friends and family? If so, how did they react?

So far I haven't shared it with anyone but my husband. I rather embarrased because of my age, but also for the large amount of money spent to do this. That and my daughter-in-law and granddaughters will tease me about it, maybe alot. I don't know how I will not have to them though.

Think of it as an investment in yourself! If you weren't happy with the way your car looked, or your home, you'd spend money improving things, so why not do it for yourself? Self confidence is so important, and if this procedure will help you, it's going to be money well spent :) And don't feel embarrassed about your age! You're never too old to want to look your best. You've got this!

Thank you. You helped give me a new perspective on it. I know I'm going to love it after I have gotten it done. 15 days and counting. Any advice on how I should tell my immediate family about this?

Preop Day - Breast Augmentation with Mastopexy

I went to my preop appointmen this morning. I met with the nurse first and she was very nice and make me feel comfortable. She explained about the different types of implants. She had me put on a support bra and then showed me how my breasts will look afterwards. We are going with a round, smooth 335 silicon implants. Dr Mark Barnard came into the room and told me what the whole process would be like. He also told me afterwards I would feel like I'd been hit by a mack truck. Can't say I'm looking forward to that. He took measurements and through everything, he made me feel comfortable and made sure I was well informed.
My husband will be taking me to the hospital and then taking care of me afterwards. I
am going to try to post some pics tonight, if I can get it done, otherwise tomorrow sometime. I mentioned that I had lost 130 lbs, so I lots of loose skin.

good for you I just had the same procedure done at 51yr. It is not that bad, but you have to use your abs for everything, getting up out of bed, you can't use your elbows even getting adjusted in the car. You should get your husband to open all the pain ill bottle because you can't push and turn....true! I couldn't reach back for the toilet paper....lol TMI . I bought a reading pillow with arms and propped up to sleep like that for 2 weeks.. Someone mentioned a back scratcher in a post i read and it is a good idea or knitting needles something to reach the spot you can't. Just remember slow and steady wins the race. You will be fine and so glad you did it. You will only regret that you didn't do it sooner!!
Personally I did not look at my incisions at all for a few weeks. I saw my doctor she changed the dressing and I didn't look I was freaked out by some of the pictures of open wounds so I didn't touch mine. and they have healed beautifully. I am 10 weeks post op now and they are my breasts. they are soft to touch and feel. Its funny because i have never felt a woman's breast with implants so i had no idea what to expect. I thought they would be hard and that you could feel the implant. But they are soft and feel like my old breasts.but better ;)
good luck, lots of ginger ale, crackers soup water and ice gel packs!!! keep up posted!

You have a nice shapely figure. Your new breasts really enhance that. How did you know what size sports bra to buy? I have ordered some, but they maybe not what I need.

I tried some on in store and then bought the rest online. With 345cc I knew it would be a C-D cup depending how much of my own tissue was there. I used the post op bra for the first two weeks and then started using the champion sports bra. My doctor said as long as each breast is supported individually and compression to the centre. Victoria Secret makes a front zip wireless bra called Knockout (I think) and it come in cup sizes. I wear a 34D in that bra. good luck!!

This is Feb 19th and my surgery is scheduled for Feb 23rd. I'm so excited and perhaps a little apprehensive. I really want this and I hope everything works out the way I want it to. I read different things about the pain. Some suffer with a lot and some with very little. I know it's different for everyone. However it turns out, I'll handle it and it'll be okay. I am so happy it's about to happen.

You will be fine. Be aware you may have some buyer remorse a few days after but a lot of that is from the pain meds. Take it easy use your abs to sit up etc and crawl/ walk on your knees to position yourself on your bed. I used gel ice packs for two weeks. It feels great! I'm excited for you!!! Keep us posted!!! And good luck ;)
