Keeping the aligners clean

So after the first few days I noticed my aligners getting a little smelly even though I brushed my teeth every time when taking them on/off. I did some research and read that a lot of people have the same problem and just put them in a cup of half water, half listerine. This method works!!!

But anyway I've noticed that no matter how much I brush them there's always some gunk stuck on them :( Do any of you have any advice on how to get rid of that??

First week with aligners

As I mentioned before the first day was the most painful and I had to take a painkiller, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to sleep. It also felt like my jaw was really hot.
Taking them off was really hard, especially my front teeth felt like they were just about to fall off, I had to use my fingernails a lot to get them out which resulted in them breaking :( lol
Eating was really difficult too so I mostly had soft food that's easy to chew.

I'd say the first 3 days are the worst and I seriously regretted getting Invisalign because I thought it would be like this for the next 9 months BUT after the fifth day I didn't have any pain anymore.
The aligners started to come off really easily and I could eat anything I wanted again.

The only thing that stayed is my slight lisp and I find it really hard to pronounce hard consonants like T, K, P etc. (You have to keep in mind that my first language is German and these consonants get pronounced REALLY hard).

Anyway the only thing that really bothers me is that I had to use a nail file to get rid of the sharp edges around my molar teeth. The cut my tongue and triggered my gag reflex. I'll tell my doctor to cut them off the next aligner pair for me.

Tray 1

Anyway here's aligner pair number one!

I have to admit that the first night wearing them was really painful! The pain was the worst when I woke up and taking them off for breakfast felt like I was ripping my own jaw off. The pain got less during the day but it's still present. I hope this will get better as most people say they only hurt on the first day.
The only good thing so far is that they keep me from biting my lips lol! And I feel like I can see the most minor change on my front teeth already or maybe I'm just hallucinating.
