I started my journey 10 wks ago... After having all my fave foods as a last horrah before my lifestyle change, I started my pre-op diet, followed by 4 phases (stages) of textures & types of food as directed by the dietician on the surgeons team. I have lost 17.6 kg with no exercise in this time! My life has improved already in so many ways already. I'll add photos when I can ????

Hi there, welcome and thanks so much for sharing with us!

Congratulations on the weight loss already! How was your recovery period? Did have much pain or downtime following the surgery?

Are you now eating normal foods?

Thank you. The recovery was ok. It was painful to start with but i rested & took pain killers! I had to do a house move with no preparation 4 wks after surgery... I managed with a lot if support. I'm eating cautiously at the moment. I had a few wks of nausea & vomitting when i started eating soft foods. I've now figured out with my dietician to have a liquid breaky to start the day, then a soft lunch, then a meal at nite which is more "normal"

Thanks for the updates!

I also have issues with hair coming out. For me it was mostly that I wasn't getting enough protein as well. I upped my protein intake and I also take a daily Biotin vitamin, which helps with hair loss.

Please do keep us updated with your progress!

fixed nausea with a simple solution!

I was sick every morning for a few wks (no not morning sickness!) and then I figured it might have to do with not having food in my stomach and the food was too harsh...I wish I figured that out earlier!! Now I don't have to take sickness tablets and be scared of food if I start my day with a high protein drink. I've never been big on breaky and it goes down easy. I then have a 'soft' lunch and a 'soft/normal' dinner.
