Having cheek revision downsize surgery today

I'm now almost 6 weeks post op. It's evident that the cheek implants are too big for my face. Today I'm having the implants trimmed down (including the projection) down to something more appropriate. I'm hoping this is the last time I'll need surgery for the cheeks. Surgeon wants to use screws this time to secure the implants to prevent any shifting. He said there shouldn't be much swelling this time, I'm hoping he's right about this. Will post a new update with pics in about a week or 2

17 days post op update

Steroids that I've been taking to reduce swelling and inflammation have been doing wonders. Really pleased with how my face is shaping up so far. Smiling is still an issue but I'm seeing tiny improvements each day. I feel I can step out in public now without being paranoid about looking like a chipmunk.

12 day post op follow up appointment

Saw the surgeon yesterday and he put my mind at ease with my concerns. I've noticed my smile is slowly getting better each day and so is my speech. He said my cheeks are still swollen and gave me a round of steroids to speed up the reduction of the swelling/inflammation, which I am grateful for. He also said that if I want less projection in the cheeks once I'm all healed then the revision surgery won't cost me anything and there will be little to no down time since the pockets in my face have already been created. It's just a matter of taking them out, trimming them and putting them back in.
