My surgeon was great, I had no bruising and very little swelling after my op - i chose twilight sedation which was great, i was up and about an hour after the op. nose looks great.

I had a septo-rhinoplasty on the 8th Dec, I love the results, but when the cast came off, there was a small blister on the tip - my surgeon said it was from the adhesive on the cast and would go away in a few days if i keep it moist. Its been two weeks and it hasn't gone away, it looks like a pink shallow hole on the end of my nose. I've tried antiseptic cream, vitaman e oil, pawpaw ointment, none of them have helped. Any ideas?

what is twilight sedation? Ive never heard of it.
Twilight sedation is where they just use local anaesthetic, so you are technically awake, but they give you a sedative so that you are drowsy - i think i actually did fall asleep though. I do remember the end of the op and felt a bit of pain, but i was too sedated to care and the pain wasn't bad
Oh I get it. It's probably likt the time I had my wisdom teeth taken out at the dentist... They used gas but I was still awake... That's crazy though that you were actually sort of aware through out the whole operation.
who was your surgeon?

{edited}. Their practice is awesome - friendly, very open to answering questions, and they give you mobile numbers to call in case you have any questions after your surgery. He has since helped me with this problem. Apparently on account of my oily skin, the adhesive caused a little infection in the pore. He has fixed it with a filler and lightening cream, no charge.

was $5000 the total cost including all hospital expenses? Just curious because I am considering seeing Dr Oates for my rhinoplasty consultation.
Hi! It was actually much less after the Medicare safety net refund, but I had twilight sedation, so I didn't go to hospital. I was home later that day. Don't be afraid of 'being awake' you don't remember it, and it saves you heaps.
