Whew! And woohoo :)
The past week has been rough getting through the soreness of the lipo. The bruising from it has dramatically decreased, but the stiffness between lipo and having an abdominal hernia repair reached my limit this week. Fortunately today I started feeling more like myself again and am able to move more. Also, I can see the results of the lipo already and am truly amazed and happy with the contours Dr. Trussler has made. He really did a great job giving me the shape I always wanted but never imagined I could have. The pain will be gone soon, but these results will be here as long as I keep up with them and that is so encouraging.
Also, my nose splints came off and out today. AAAAAhhhhhhh! HUGE sigh of relief. Dr. Trussler made my nose look slimmer, cleaner, and natural. My family is happy that I still look like myself and I am happy that I got the improvements I wanted. Dr. T is so good at what he does. #sogratefulandrelieved

I am trying to figure out how to begin this review. I want to use these words: grateful, relieved, appreciative and confident.
I met with Dr. Trussler Friday morning pre-op and, as usual, he spent time answering all my questions. His nursing staff, Nancy and Sheila, we're kind, experienced and put me at ease. Our anesthesiologist Jeannie is absolutely wonderful and everything went well. I didn't even realize I was going to sleep until I woke up!
What was originally supposed to be a 4 hour surgery turned into almost 6 hours because Dr. Trussler spent extra time getting my nose just right. I can sort of see what my nose will look like and feel very relieved and confident that it will match what I pictured. Also, I think I am going to love the lipo results. Dr. Trussler went above and beyond what we discussed and I am so grateful to him.
The worst of it was the lipo pain afterwards. I kept wanting to walk so I could walk away from my body but that didn't work ;) By yesterday my legs felt back to normal. I have had minimal, if any, discomfort to my abdomen, and no discomfort to my nose. I've been using Arnica gel on my face to help heal what slight bruising there is.
At the end of all this I'll post before and after pics.

Like so many others, I have so greatly appreciated...
Like so many others, I have so greatly appreciated all of the reviews and advice I've read on here. I'm not much of a social media poster, but there aren't many full length reviews about the surgeon I've chosen, Dr. Andrew Trussler, or much about belly button hernias so I want to do my part in this community!
First off, I am blown away by how great my initial consultation with Dr. Trussler was. I've seen five other surgeons over the last few years trying to get a good feel for which one I would go with for rhinoplasty and they all had different suggestions. They kept pushing different types of chin implants and I was just so confused with it all that years went by and I put the idea of a rhinoplasty on the shelf. Then I had a couple of kids, lost breast volume and had a permanent "outie" belly button so I decided to look into breast augmentation. I met with one surgeon in town who gave me his "schpeal" (I use that phrase because he talked so fast I could tell he was just giving me the same talk he gives to everyone and he seemed surprised each time I would "interrupt" with a question). He didn't discuss any options for different types of implants (high volume vs lower sitting type) and I was out of his office within 30 minutes. While there I asked about my belly button which he diagnosed as an abdominal hernia and told me I'd have to find a general surgeon to fix that part. I wasn't thrilled with the service, the pricing, or having to have multiple physicians and separate recoveries so I asked an anesthesiologist acquaintance who she would recommend for breast augmentation. She didn't hesitate and exclaimed, "Dr. Trussler! He's the best!" When I read about him online I found out he is a plastic surgeon and general surgeon so I felt like I lucked out. I was able to get in to see him fairly quickly.
My meeting with Dr. Trussler was AWESOME! I think I was there for almost an hour and a half and we talked about everything I'd been thinking about doing for years. He is so well versed in his practice and clearly articulates his thoughts about everything we discuss out loud so that I really understood what he was thinking and could tell he thinks things through very well. For example, when we were discussing breast implant recovery he wanted to know the ages of my kids, if they were walking and what type of help I had at home because he recognized I have a very small window before they are both up and walking around which would make for a more difficult recovery. When he asked his assistant Brooke (who is awesome) for samples of implants and also one of those head lights to examine my nose he was thinking out loud to figure out what he wanted to go over next to find the perfect "cadence". I was already convinced he was a thorough doctor, but that showed me that he would use this same professionalism and flow when performing my surgery since I was wanting multiple procedures done.
At the end of the visit, I was over the moon. I ended up deciding against the breast implants because I will likely have more kids, but I opted for the hernia repair, rhinoplasty and liposuction. I had finally found the right surgeon who really listened to me, clearly explained his thought process, and was absolutely down to earth and real. It's weird, but a couple of plastic surgeons I've met before wear pin- striped suits (the loud kind) and alligator boots which just seems a little much, but I guess this is the world or plastic surgery after all. Since my initial consultation I've returned to ask additional questions, review the look-book more and every time Dr. Trussler is wearing scrubs and engaged with his patients.
To be honest, even though I knew he was the right doctor, my nerves over the last week have been getting to me at night. I keep reading reviews online and Dr. Grigoryantis in LA keeps getting reviewed with beautiful outcomes every time. I even found a review comment Dr. Trussler did about two rhino surgeons in the Dallas area which he recommended and they both were well reviewed too. I asked Dr. Trussler about this and he explained their strengths but also reassured me that the one doctor who was a rhino specialist (and has since retired) was one of his mentors and he trained with him on Mondays when he was up in Dallas. Again, I was at ease.
Last night I finally put together a collage of all the research I'd done on what I liked or didn't like and emailed it to Dr. Trussler so that I don't have to wait until the last minute before the surgery to get everything off my chest. (er, nose ;)) I feel so much more at ease now. It's crazy to think that surgery is in just a few days! I think my biggest fear is that the results will be so minimal (rhinoplasty and lipo) and that I will have paid thousands of dollars and gone through the recovery process for not much of a difference. There aren't many before and after pics of rhinoplasty or liposuction in Dr. Trussler's look book, which is part of the reason why I want to do this review. He's a great surgeon (pre-surgery at least!) and even though all of the reviews online are favorable, they are mostly related to breasts or hand surgery. I'd like to be able to write a review about my procedures so that anyone else in Austin knows what to expect from him regarding these as well.
I followed a review called, "2 Months Post Op - Septorhinoplasty with Dr. Grigoryants + Travel & Supply Guide" by a girl whose screen name is lenosestory. I highly recommend reading through her recovery process as she has posts about all the supplies and meds (Arnica, etc) she used and what worked. Hers is the most comprehensive so I'll leave that type of review to what she has already posted and follow up after the surgery to let you all know how it went! Wish me luck and pray for me please :)

It sounds like you've done your due diligence with research and thinking about what you want out of this. I'm so glad you've started your story here on RealSelf. Here's a list of pre- and post-op tips for you as far as the rhino goes. I'm looking forward to your updates!
