I am 37 years old, mommy of 2 kids. I was never skinny but always fit. I have big heavy bones and even in high school when I was super fit my weight fluctuated between 170 and 180 lbs size 8-10. I'm 5'8". After getting married to my wonderful husband I gained another 20 lbs over about 5 years and still felt good and sexy about myself.
Let me start from saying that I've been dreaming about having my mommy makeover done since the birth of my first child. I gained so much weight during my first pregnancy ( about 70lbs) and after birth I didn't lose much. I was so heavy for about 4 years. Didn't care much about the way I looked because I thought I was fine. My husband loved me the way I was and I was happy. I was always active working out and then when I set my first goal of running a 10K race I realized that with 270lbs it's not easy! I stated working out even harder, lifting heavy, running more and of course watching what I ate. I lost around 70 lbs in 1 year. I was around 195-200lbs. Looking and feeling awesome! I had muscle definitions on my legs, shoulders and arms. But the stomach and boobs were in terrible shape because 70 lbs weigh gain was mostly around my mid section. First baby sucked the life out of my boobs. They were flat with big nipples pointing down. I had extra skin hanging from my stomach almost down to my legs ( gross). My husband still though I was sexy! I have a great man! Then we decided that we wanted to have another child! I had an IUD for 5 years after the first child. It got removed and I gained 15lbs from doing nothing different. Hormones went crazy! It took us 3 months to get pregnant. I was way better with second pregnancy and gained 39lbs. I was active the whole time . Lifting weights, doing cardio and such. My last visit to the gym was when I was almost 9 months pregnant. I had my baby and I though it was going to take nothing to lose all this weight. I worked so hard working out 4-7 days a week, watching my food. I lost 30 lbs in 1 year and I hit my wall. I gained a lot of muscle but the stupid scale didn't change a bit. I had more lose skin on my stomach and my boobs looked so sad and every time I looked at naked myself in the mirror I could really just cry.
When I got pregnant with my second child I knew that I was going to have a surgery no matter what. I did the research. I spent hours , weeks, months. I spent two years researching doctors, real people stories here on RealSelf. I picked out 5 doctors in my area to have consultations with. I had 4 consultations with three different doctors. First doctor put me down so much I felt horrible. He basically told me that I had weird looking boobs and they were never going to look good even with surgeries which just on boobs I needed two in his opinion . Surgeries to correct my tuberous breast first with lift. And then another one to do BA. He told me that I had to be realistic and didn't expect miracles. And another surgery for my tummy tuck which again needed a lot of work. And before doing this all I needed to do lipo on all areas first. So the total cost for everything Including 3 surgeries, 4 separate times for lipo and garments and such would have been around 40k. It's a lot of money and 3 separate times under anesthesia and 3 times to recover. And this doctor was recommended by 3 of my friends. I was shocked how rude one person can be. After consultation with him I felt like I wasn't going to be able to find a doctor who would understand my pain and my story. Second doctor I found was great but he said that I needed two surgeries to do the lipo on my back , tummy tuck, breast augmentation with lift. And a total cost for two surgeries was around 33k because I had to pay two times for anesthesiologist and surgery room fees.
So my third doctor was my angel! He was one of 5 I picked from the beginning. He was also recommended by my friend. The staff, nurses at "Restora" were so nice! I felt welcomed right away! After meeting with my nurse Lindsay I felt great right away. My husband and I really liked the explanation about surgeries I was interested in. And then we met with the doctor! Super nice man with wonderful bedside manners. He was so confident in what he was offering! He said that in his practice they combine a few surgeries at once all the time so the patients wouldn't need extra time to recover. I don't know why, but I trusted him right away! I just felt so comfortable and really confident in his ability to make my dream come true. Dr. Reid is such a nice person I just wanted to give him a hug! When I have this feeling about people I know that I can trust them!
Originally I was planning to have my surgery in August. Right after this very first consultation with Dr. Reid I decided to do it faster. My consultation was on April 10th. We scheduled my surgery for May 2nd. A week later I had my two week preop and then May 2nd I had my huge surgery that lasted 9 hours. From my first consultation to the day of surgery I didn't sleep at all. I was nervous. Surgery went well. My results are so dramatic! I can't believe it's my body! I'm still in a lot of pain but it was so worth it! I can't wait to wear my first bikini in probably 20 years!
Dr. Reid I love you and all your staff!

You look amazing!! Having breast reduction and lift Thursday. Had apron removed in April and scars are minimal. Thank you for week to week posts, it helps us to understand the whole process.

I just wanted to say your results are very good. Be kind to yourself, I saw some before pics where you were making bad comments to yourself, remember you have your beautiful kids from that : ) I know it’s easier to say it than actually believe it but really you are looking good now & before it was just what happens to many after birth of children : )

Hi,
I'm not going to lie, I'm feeling pretty sore still! Today marks 3 weeks post surgery. I never excepted this much pain preparing , doing my research and going into surgery. I'm still on pain meds which makes me dizzy , so I can't drive. I still take stool softener because In 3 weeks I maybe had 5 successful times going to the bathroom. I'm very nauseous every day from many pills I take. But I look so different! I'll post more picture tomorrow when I take another shower to see my progress. Most of the time I'm wearing my binder!
