Two years ago at age 71, I decided to take the plunge and get work done on my jaw line and eyes. My dermatologist recommended Dr. Patel, and we developed a rapport from my first appt. with him. I had no unrealistic expectations to look 30 years old again--just wanted to shave off 10 or 15 years. Dr. Patel understood my vision and we decided on a rhytidectomy to tighten my sagging jowl and a blepharoplasty to lift my upper and lower eyelids. He recommended no brow lift. He was very thorough in explaining the procedures--what to expect, surgery time and recovery, care after surgery, etc. Follow-up exams were very thorough and lasted till he was sure I was pleased and well on the way to complete healing. Through it all, he was so kind and concerned about my feelings. Two years later I'm still completely satisfied with the results of the surgery. No one seems to realize I had work done and just tell me how great I'm looking. Dr. Patel is tops in his field!!

Thank goodness I had my husband to help me with recovery at home, i.e., changing bandages, applying medication to incisions and eyes, etc. I was never in pain at all throughout the healing process. After about 6 weeks the swelling had gone down enough that I felt comfortable going out in public. Dr. Patel provided excellent care during my followup visits. I'm so glad I decided to go through with the procedure.
