Wearing a corset

WORTH IT$7,300
After the first couple weeks PO, I went in search of a good compression garment... I struggled to peel into spanx, flexees and other shape wear that were driving me batty. Then I put on a corset and I was SOLD. My sciatica pain which was coming back at 3-4 weeks PO was greatly alleviated by the extra firm support of a steel boned corset.

I have been wearing this for about a month, averaging 4-8 hours per day. Not only is it providing support for the tummy tuck, it's also improving my posture, reducing post op swelling, helping my back and sciatica pain, and - I think - reducing my rib cage a little to give me a better hour glass figure.

I did ask the Dr, and I don't ratchet it down too tight, I go for firm comfortable, and tighten it up a bit for a few minutes before removing it.

This whole thing has been life altering. I was on pain meds for sciatica for 2 years before the surgery, and now with the repaired abs, and a little assistance from the corset, I have been completely off the meds for nearly a month.

My weight is still higher than I'd like, it hasn't gone down from pre-op yet, but I can still feel the swelling in my lower belly at the end of the day. I ordered a fit bit yesterday and want to start exercising again slowly, so I don't re-injure anything in my back. Will post pics without the corset soon.

Well first off, you look FABULOUS!! :) I have worn a corset a few times too when I don't want the straps of my CG showing, or when I don't want the pantylines it gives me (since it's a bodysuit). My problem with the corset is that I am so short that it's really too long for my torso, so it ends up digging into the underside of my boobs. I found a shorter one on Amazon that I ordered, but I need to have a little less swelling before I can fit into it. I think it was made for size zeroes. :-\ I'm glad your back pain is better, that's awesome! :)
How is the sciatica now? I too have sciatica and am hoping this will make it go away.

Experience with Embrace? 2wk PO

I've tried, but haven't been able to get a decent after pic, but things are looking pretty good. Most of the steri-strips are still on the suture line and I had the last drain removed on Monday. I go next Monday for suture removal and Embrace. Does anyone have experience with Embrace?

Also on the weird side - I put on some spanx today and I put on jean shorts over it. I keep thinking the jeans are riding up too high over my waist... But I check and they're not- it's just that the nerves that used to be above my belly button are now below it... VERY WEIRD sensation! Anyone else have this?
I'll post what pics I have...

Hey, I already am following you, lol. You are looking so good!!! Sooooo flat. :) Now post a new set of pics, girlie.
To follow-up on this, I'm not thrilled with the embrace. It was expensive and uncomfortable. The parts of the scar that were covered with the mederma scar strips look better than what was covered by the embrace. I didn't use the last set they sold me .

Day 5 post op

The drains are driving me crazy. But I'm finally able to get a good look at the belly button and I'm pretty excited!

I believe the drains drive everyone a bit crazy. Hang in there you are doing great.
My back hurts from hunching over, but on the bright side, I've had zero sciatica since the surgery... I guess we'll see what happens when I can stand up straight again. Hoping that a couple weeks of stretching my back in the opposite direction of my previous sway-back lordosis will help the discs get some blood flow and recover.
you look awesome!
Thanks! the belly button looks better today. I still haven't seen the sutures.
You look great!
You look so much better than I do at 5 day post op. I look horrible still and I'm afraid it will never look normal! I have my first post op appt next week but it still is concerning.
