At first, I want to say that English is not my first language and I am still working on getting used to it, so my expressions may not be that clear sometimes, this did bother me a bit about whether writing this review or not, but since I had the thought of doing liposuction, this website has been giving me lots of knowledge, confidence and support, reading other generous people's experience and photos helped me so much that now I want to give something back and share my experience.
I have been thinking about having Vaser lipo at the beginning and I also had consultation with a doctor in Auckland who then cancelled my surgery just 5 days before my scheduled date for surgery, this is quite frustrating as I was fully prepared for everything at that time and suddenly got declined. After that I did some more research and start thinking about tumescent liposuction. At first I thought Vaser is the best and safest option to do as it seemed more modern and high-tech. but I was told by the doctor that lots of the things known by people about vaser are simply marketing, there is not huge difference, these are just two kinds of ways doing liposuction. I can't tell whether this is true or not but I did find that tumescent is more widely used for many many years while vaser is still relatively new and not that common in New Zealand. So I bet the doctors are also more experienced performing it. Another factor is that I found the bruising and swelling after vaser are quite serious and people having troubles with it cos the results will show after quite long time. Tumescent lipo got swelling and bruising as well but not that serious and will disappear faster.
All the things above are through my research and the info from my consultations with different doctor, but I believe you can't fully trust it until you actually experience it. I will post my experience and recovery after my procedure and see how it goes.
Next is about the things I did before the surgery.
I had consultation last week and luckily got a spot this Wednesday, the clinic I visited does three lipo surgery every week so I didn't have to wait that long, which is quite good cos I had to wait nearly a month for some doctors to only have a consultation, and much longer if i want to have the surgery, which is quite annoying for me.
During the consultation, the doctor checked my body and see how much fat i have got and answered my doubts, As I want to have both the thigh and abs done, he advised me to separate them, the reason is the drugs will already be too much for me to undergo a surgery of 3D thigh which includes the whole thigh, banana rolls and back of knee. And they only use local anthesia. I took his advice and scheduled my second surgery for the 3D abs two weeks after this one, I am supposed to wait longer to let my body recovery better from the first one but I only got one month holiday and there is no time to spare from work after it so i don't want to waste it.
The doctor then went through the things i need to prepare for the surgery and what to expect during and after the surgery. Then the nurse took my blood pressure, gave me some prescription and blood test forms. I also talked with one staff in the reception who also had lipo done years ago, they are all quite friendly and helpful, which impressed me a lot cos I could see they were a professional and kind team.
I also want to share something that to be noted before your surgery, I knew most of them from other people's reviews like no smoking, drinking, fish oil or other drugs. One thing I was not ware of was that you had better not use moistures or soap that contains it for one or two weeks because they may make the marks for surgery easy to come off during procedure.
That is basically what I want to share at the moment, my surgery is tomorrow morning and I took one antibiotics with dinner and I am going to take another pill that for relaxing and helping me sleep tonight. Tomorrow morning I am allowed to have a light breakfast with one antibiotics and 3 times a day after surgery.
I will keep posting and sharing my photos after it.
Hope everything will be fine tomorrow.

I am back! the surgery went well, i did feel some pain and discomfort, but everything is tolerable, everybody is so supportive, the doctor was talking to me, the nursing was holding my hands and gave me water.I had 1.5L fat and 0.3 L fluid sucked out from my thigh. I rest for 2 hours in the clinic and they helped me dressed into the garment before i going back. I don't feel pain at all but i feel quite sick after eating some porridge, and i am still quite sleepy, so I think i am going to bed soon and share today's experience tomorrow..

I flew back home from Auckland and everything was fine, I got follow up calls yesterday and today from the clinic to check I was all good, before I left the clinic the day after surgery the nurse gave me some Vitamin D and B cos she said my blood test showed the lack of them in my body, taking them would make my next recovery much faster, she also advised me to take some iron supplyment and told me to keep an eye on the hole that was still leaking to avoid infection. Now it is the 3rd day and still feeling sore like I have done too much exercise and hard work, bruising and swelling is all over my thighs but I could tell the results already. I am taking arnica tablets and will start massage it with arnica cream after one week.Hope the result can become more obvious before my next surgery .

Hi Milk bottles, I am having 3d ab lipo with Dr Ron in 8 days ... I'll let you know how it goes :-)
April 7, 2015
I would be very interested in seeing and hearing your results, thank you. Also of your first procedure, clearly you are not put off. good luck with your 3d ad lipo hope all goes well for you

Thank you :-) I'm hopeful it will all go well and I'll get good results - I think I have realistic expectations and I've only heard positive things about Dr Ron so I'm optimistic, although still a bit nervous . I haven't had any other procedures and only considered liposuction after my sister had it done in the US (she had great results) so hopefully I will as well. I'll keep you posted

Hi Milk bottles, The surgery went well. Its been one week today and I'm still a little sore and quite numb. I think it is still early days in terms of results - I'm still very swollen but can already see a difference in my shape. I'm expecting it to take a few weeks for everything to settle down. Happy to answer any questions you have

Thank god your ok. I was beginning to wonder if u were well . Well of course would live to see a photo but that is probably the last thing u want to so at this point . Did it hurt while the procedure was being done. They talk of it leaking profusely after for days , is that so? What has your recovery been like . I'm at home with daughter only she is a bit young to run the house . Will I be able to get around. I imagine I would be looking at at least 3000 out of me . So it's not a small job I would think

Sorry for delay - the week flew by & didn't get near the computer much :-) For the most part, it didn't hurt during the procedure. There were a few sore spots & they put more anaesthetic in. There were a few spots that were still sore so they gave me pethadine, which helped me get thru it. Unfortunately that made me quite nauseous and I threw up in recovery and again at the hotel :-( Overall the actually procedure wasn't too painful. I did leak quite a bit when I got to the hotel, overnight and a bit the next day. After that it was fine - I didn't need any extra padding or plasters or anything. I am able to get around pretty well - just sore and tired. The last few days I've been quite swollen and it is uncomfortable to bend over to pick things up off the floor or put washing in the dryer. If your daughter is still at an age where you have to pick her up a lot - that will be hard as your abdomen will be quite tender. I've been getting around fine (to grocery store, getting the kids to sports, etc) just not at the same pace I'm used to. I did prepare several meals for the freezer beforehand and I'm really glad I did! I had 3000 taken out of me and doc said because of the stretch marks from my pregnancies and scar tissue, my fat was really hard. They really had to break it down to remove it so that's probably contributed to soreness. I also had 16 incision points - not sure if that's normal but of course each one is a bit sore at first. The garment, I must say, is very comfortable! I takes longer to dry than I was expecting so you might want to consider getting 2 or at least having a backup. It feels better to wear the garment than to not have it on - it's a strange sensation to have a numb swollen abdomen. At times it feels likes it going to pop - lol - that's when I know its time to put my feet up! Hope that helps! :-)

Yes it has thank you so much for replying. Will you post photos of your procedure on this forum, sounds like we have/had similar issues would love to see the end result. Ive seen his before and after images and they all look great but of course they love to show you the good stuff. Good to hear who see some results. take care of yourself, look forward to any other news

I am wondering how you are doing. I have booked for early June but are quite scared if it is going to be worth it especially based on one of the womens comments on here. Are you happy with your results?
May 25, 2015
Hi. Doing well thanks. I'm nearly at the 6 week mark. I feel like I'm finally moving out of the "healing" phase and into the "results" phase :-) I must admit my tummy isn't totally flat. I asked Doc about it at the 3 week visit and he said that although I don't have any fat left on my abdomen, my muscles have stretched out from my 3 pregnancies so I will still have the D shape but it is much smaller than it was. I'm much happier with my sides as they are a lot slimmer and my clothes fit a lot better so I'm happy about that. My sister reckons I will continue to see results in the next few months, and I am getting back into exercising and of course eating good food. I think its normal to go thru a "what the hell have I done to myself" phase in the first couple of weeks when your bruised, sore, swollen (in areas you never thought possible!) and your abdomen doesn't feel like it belongs to your body, but I think surely I can't have 3 litres of fat removed and not look better. So while I'm not perfect (if that's even possible) I am happier and feel more confident about how I look. I'm getting my 6 week photos done on Friday so I'll let you know if they put them on the website. All the best for your procedure! Keep in touch & let me know how it goes. :-)

Thank u so much for your reply . Glad to hear u r getting there . I will keep u posted .

I would love to know how u felt at the 3 week stage . Are u able to have cg off for a period of time and it it bearable to touch . I have to have surgery and have to do the above will it be comfortable to do so . Also boyfriend is coming home at that time. How will that work
May 27, 2015
At 3 weeks I was starting to feel more normal. Abdomen still feels numb - it is bearable to touch just feels a bit foreign. You can have the CG off for a few hours however it does feel better with it on. Without knowing the nature of your other surgery I would say to be guided by the advice of your doctor. Your body will still be healing from lipo 3 weeks post op so be kind to yourself - don't rush into it if you are worried about having 2 surgeries in a short period of time. I would also ask Dr Ron for advice as well - he'd have a good idea if another surgery 3 weeks later is advisable or if you should wait on lipo. With regards to boyfriend coming home, if your asking if you'll be able to have sex, I'd say if you feel like it there's no reason not to ;-)

Your a star. And very generous with your knowledge, I spoke to someone in the industry and said I am in very good hands. Which was very reassuring. To have elective surgery does go against my grain. But I certainly feel good to go with your help. Thanks again
April 23, 2015
thank you it has helped. Will you be continuing to put posts on this site. Cause I would love to see the before and afters. I am really nervous about doing this especially the costs. We certainly pay top dollar here compared to elsewhere, but don't think I would like to have this done overseas. happy healing !!!
May 29, 2015
Are u able to send me a picture of before and after please. I need it for reassurance. Just read a bad review feeling most uneasy .
