So far I have had 3ccs in my lips, spread across3 x 1cc doses. The first 1cc was January 2017 followed by 1cc in May 2017 and another top up in November 2017. I absolutely love the results and would reccomend if you are wanting to dramatically increase the volume of 1 or both lips that you spread out the doses over at least 6 months. This will give you time to adjust to the new shape of your lips and the volume increase will appear more subtle.
I’ve also had Botox in my top lip, this “rolls” your lip up and out to increase the volume of the lip. This is amazing if your upper lip still appears small even after several ccs of filler. This might also be a good alternative for people with decent sized lips who are simply looking for a boost. It’s much cheaper than filler and gives a great result.
The pain is not bad, I don’t get any numbing other than a bit of numbing cream. The filler contains a numbing agent so after the first couple of injections you won’t feel much. It’s best to relax and definitely make sure you have nothing on that night and if it’s your first time clear your schedule for the following day too as your lips will feel huge and probably a bit swollen and sore. The pain goes down after 1-2 days. On my 3rd session I had barely any swelling or pain. I think the body learns what’s coming! There are different methods of injecting, so far I have been to 3 different practitioners, all of which were great but all had different methods. “Pillows” of filler add shape to your lips and make them look more natural , “posting” is a type of injection which adds structure to the lips. I’ve just had this done to balance out my lip asymmetry. You can see my transformation in the pics attached, feel free to ask questions!

Looks great! What type of filler have you used? I agree that it is best to go gradually so that the lips get used to it

Thank you! The initial 2 were juvederm and the last treatment was belotero intense :)

What a change! Looks great! At what point in the process did you add the botox, did you get it each time?

Thank you! I got the Botox about 2 months before my most recent treatment. In picture 5 was when it had kicked in! I’m going to get it done again in a week or so now that my lips have settled, it really makes a big difference

Beautiful lips, great transformation! Thank you for sharing! I didn't even know about the Botox role in it. Where did you learn this? Google or the practitioners?

Thank you! My friend had it done first and she is now a trained cosmetic nurse so was able to do it for me. I tried to google it aswell but there wasn’t too much info out there, although it seems to be more and more common!

Your lips look great! I have been thinking of doing something for my lips but don't know what to try. I just got botox in the brow area and my doctor told me about the "lip trick" and I just had 1cc on each side of my top lips(2cc total). I really didn't notice anything so I might go back and try more. Why did you go from juvederm to belotero intense? Do you like one better than the other?

Thank you :), did you get the Botox in the lip or no? I would really recommend trying that before you get more filler. I think you will be surprised! I went to a different practitioner and they prefer to use Belotero so I went with that. I definitely like the result and I’m hoping the belotero will last longer than Juvederm but will wait and see :)

O I see, you only got the Botox and not the filler yet?

I haven't heard of botox for a lip roll before, I don't want to do lip fillers yet so it sounds appealing to me. Do you remember how many units it took? Thanks!

Heya, it wasn’t much at all, I think around 8-12 units. They do 4 injection sites, 2 on the right side or upper lip and 2 on the left.

Cool, I'll ask my doc next time I see her about this. Does your mouth look weird at all when you talk since there's less movement? We all know about the dreaded frozen face look you could get with too much botox, I'm wondering if my mouth expressions could look unnatural after this?

It doesn’t look weird but it does feel a little weird the first time. Almost like you’ve been to the dentist or something but you definitely get used to it.

Botox in the lips can lead to asymmetry and the lips shifting to one side more than the other. Be careful. Other than that your lips are looking perfect

Thanks for the tip, seems to be fine so far.

That is only 1 cc of Boletero Intense? you split the 1cc for both the top and bottom lip?
User Avatar
December 10, 2017
Yup I already had 2cc of juvederm I my lips from the previous 6 months. The last 1cc of boletero was mainly put into the upper lip with I would say 1/4 going into the bottom lip for hydration.

Beautiful !!! Dream lips!!!
So please tell us where exactly the Botox was injected. Also do you think your lip enhancement improved ( shortened) your philtrum ( distance between lip and base of nose)?

Thank you! The Botox was put in 2 spots on the left and 2 spots on the right upper lip. I think the exact locations will be different depending on lip shape. Only around 2-3 units is used in each injection. And yes the Botox has rolled my top lip out which has shortened the distance between lip and nose

I saw your answers regarding the botox and type of filler...Thanks again for sharing and keep us updated if there is any change from the botox. Years ago I did have a bit of silicone 1000 in my lips and he didn't use enough and charged $800 and I was so disappointed and never went back. It didn't cause anything bad either.

O no! I think (I hope) that most people offering fillers these days will be much more experienced due to how popular they are. However definitely ask around. This is my lips after 3cc total each cc is $700 in New Zealand so you can probably google the average cost per cc in the country you are from. If your wanting a drastic change i think around 3cc will be required x

Nope 3cc of filler, and Botox in top lip to roll it out. If you read the rest of my review above it has all the info x
