I'm half Asian and half Caucasian so I've always had hooded eyes. They were never a problem until a few years ago when my whole face just slowly started to drop. Before my surgery my eyelids almost touched my upper lashes and made me look about 10 years older than I am, IMO.

Had a chin implant and submental liposuction along with my blepharoplasty as an office visit that took approx 1.5 hours. You can find my chin implant and lipo review on another post. I'll cover the pre op details on that review. And let me just say, so far, in the last 24 hours, my blepharoplasty recovery has been a breeze compared to the chin and lipo. Those two have hurt like a [RS bleep]. Wow. Zers.

I was immediately happy with my eyelids after surgery despite the swelling because there was already improvement. The doc had told me before surgery that I could go for the whole European look and get rid of my hooded eyes completely or stick with my ethnic look and just get rid of the excess hood. I opted for the latter. Anything else just wouldn't be me. Now I just wait for the swelling to go down. I had some pain the first day but it was minimal.

Day 3 no pain

theminesweeper
Eyes look great so far and my pain has been mostly nonexistent. Super happy with my eyes. They look even and I don't look as old as I used to. My chin augmentation, however, has been the most painful thing I've endured other than childbirth. I'll update on that post though.

I'm glad you're not experience eye pain. Sorry about the chin, though. Oof! It sounds like you did the right thing by maintaining some of your ethnicity. If I had anything interesting to maintain, I definitely would! Going to check out your chin implant updates now. Please continue to keep us updated!

Eyes seem to be back to being heavy hooded

I'm kinda bummed. It's been a week and a half and my eyes are back to looking heavily hooded. This whole plastic surgery thing, between my chin and my eyes, has just been emotionally exhausting. And then frustrating that something so shallow is emotionally exhausting to me. Serenity now! Guess I'll see what the doc says on Thursday. Even my husband says it looks like I didn't have anything done. That bummed me out.
