Surgery: The Pros and Cons

Upon meeting Dr. Maloney one will find themselves in an intimidating presence. Let’s just say the man has good genetics, I won’t sugar coat anything. I chose to do a rhinoplasty with him, after consulting multiple doctors in atlanta, he seemed most professional while having an astonishingly nice office. I was nervous going into things however. I had seen his previous work and was impressed, but was overthinking about the process and did not want my photos released because I wanted little attention drawn to my plastic surgery, and wanted it to be mostly secret. As for the procedure. I chose to do the rhinoplasty in the winter, which I do not recommend. The air is colder and dryer making post surgery congestion much more easily brought on. However, the doctor was conservative in the surgery, and did not remove too much cartilage, which made my nose still functional. At first I was upset that it was still somewhat big, however post procedure I am grateful as an aesthetic nose is really just a basic, natural looking Jose and not one that is too small, especially for functionality. Anyways, life become much easier once the Georgia summer came, and after a while I felt my breathing become much easier. Patience is key, and once you start to consistently breathe well through the nose it almost gains strength in a way. This is something I must emphasize, time will heal. But depending on the season it will be easier. The recovery can be rough, but as long as you can be patient you will have a functional and good looking nose. My key tips would be to do consistent cardio (very helpful), don’t work all the time and make time to just relax, and if you also do the septoplasty at the same time, I highly recommend smiling, it will help to keep it straight post procedure. Don’t forget to eat and don’t overthink or stress too much, as that can also increase congestion just like allergies. Was it worth it? Obviously in an ideal world no one would ever judge one based on looks. Unfortunately that is not the case, as I was often teased about it ever since elementary school. But following this surgery I have tried to become more out there in the dating world (which has luckily been pretty successful), and people no longer complain about it. In addition, in an effort to have good breathing, I’ve strived to be in the best shape and physical health more than anytime in my life, and am actually proud of that.
