Love my New Nose! - Atlanta
ORIGINAL POST
After researching rhinoplasty procedures and...

After researching rhinoplasty procedures and doctors extensively for a good 2 years, and going to a few consultations, I finally settled on Dr. Burke. He was honest with me about my expectations and his ability to give me the nose I was looking for, and he did a great job listening to what it was I was personally wanted. I wanted my nose to be smaller and to not protrude down so much, to have the pinching on the bridge of my nose gone, to have the bump shaved down, and to have the part that hangs down at the bottom of my nose reduced.
He was very up front with me that my particular nose was a little difficult, that he wouldn't have wanted to do it earlier in his career, but that he had in fact done a similar one at one point and he was confident he could really improve my nose. I was VERY nervous going into the surgery. The guy is super talented and capable. He delivered on everything he said he would. I love my new nose. I no longer cringe when I see a picture of myself! It's not quite as small as I would like it to be, and I think it still projects down a little too much, but I know that was a limitation of the surgery, that my nose could only get to about 90% of where I was wanting it to be.
If you're thinking of getting a nose job I would highly recommend Dr. Burke. In addition to doing a great job, he was one of the more affordable doctors I consulted with.
The only negatives I can think of was that he was late to the operation, and that after the procedure was finished I barely heard from his office again. Made me feel a little like they cared more about getting my money than my personal well-being and satisfaction. I would have liked to have a conversation with the doctor about how things went, rather than hearing a blanket statement from my friend who was there that "things went really well". When I came in to get the splint removed it was by some woman I had never met before and Dr. Burke was not there, which I was a little disappointed about because I still had questions about what he found when he opened up my nose.
If you're looking for information on what to expect during recovery- it was a bit painful, but mostly just annoying to have the splint on and the gauze up my nose. The splint was so tight that the end of my nose looked like it was purple and swelling out of the splint, I was nervous the circulation was being cut off to the end of my nose but it wasn't. My nose was also crooked in the mirror. I'm not sure why, maybe an over correction the doctor performed to straighten my nose that eventually corrected itself. It took a full 2 weeks for the bruising to go away, but after a week I looked mostly normal with make up on. For a number of months after the surgery my right nostril would squeeze shut when I breathed in if I was congested. This went away after a few more months.

Thank you so much for posting pictures... not many people post pics when the procedure involves their face, since it is their most identifying feature. I probably won't go through with this for another two years, but as of right now, Dr. Robinson is definitely topping my list of prospective surgeons! Thanks again for such an honest, thorough review with pics.
