I'm have been doing for everyone else my whole life. Now my son is grown and I am alone. I don't like the way I look and I am going to be 50 in November. I am giving myself permission to do something for me. This site is wonderful, I am scared but ready for my journey. Will post pics later.

Good for you:)  I think it's great you are doing this just for you.  You go girlie!

You will be ok and loving the new body very soon.  The nerves are all normal and so worth it in the end.  I will be thinking about you tomorrow and sending good thoughts and healing vibes your way.

Update us as soon as you are able.

Well it's Sunday and all is fine. I only had real pain on Saturday because Friday I was still feeling good from all of the meds and did a bit too much. I see the doctor tomorrow. Can't wait to see.

I am 4 days post op and feeling great. Pain pump, never have surgery without it. I had it removed yesterday but not the drains. I am walking ok and your body lets you know when you are doing to much. Make sure you listen to it.

Hi Atlanta girl, it's good to hear you are doing well so soon. My PS usually prescribes pain meds but I am going to ask about a pain pump because I have a very hard time swallowing pills. Happy healing and I will be watching your progress...

I was prescribed both. They put in the pump sometime at the end of the surgery. It is a local anesthetic so the pain meds don't interfer with it. You don't have to do anything except carry around a little pouch that it is contained in. It is all automatic. The name is ON-Q Painbuster. I used the pills on Saturday and Sunday morning.
PS. please read up on stool softeners especially when taking pain meds.

I see my ps on Monday. I'll be getting rid of those dreadful drain tubes removed (fingers crossed). When I first looked at myself, being swollen I thought I looked the same. But once I saw the pictures side by side I was elated! I will post more on Monday or Tuesday. Thanks for your interest.
