I am a 23 year old black woman with a huge nose. I see a lot of people post this but no my nose is the biggest I have ever seen. I recently graduated from college and I have always wanted this procedure done. I have dislike my nose since I was 10. I am still confident and feel like I beautiful with my huge nose. My family dont even believe in plastic surgrey but this is something I have to have done. I have my 1st consultation February 8th with Dr. Dejoseph of Atlanta, GA . I am hoping that the cost does not exceed 8,000 so I can get it done before the summer. Im in the process of saving for this procedure.

Show pictures of noses you like, this will help you both be on same page

And you can show pictures of noses you don't like, too narrow, whatever....tip too sharp, too short, too upturned, whatever you don't like. Because you want to have your surgeon have the closest idea of "your vision". He may not be able to get you exactly there, but I'll guarantee he will be much closer if you have "wish pics" of good noses and bad noses

I had rhino 3 years ago. Maybe different issues that I hated. The surgery took 4 hours! Crazy! It was worth it. Not as bad as I thought it would be, for the amount of work he did. I LOVE my nose now. My doc was Dr. Menick in Tucson, AZ. He wrote the "bible" for Rhinoplasty. Look him up. Anyway, good luck to you, it was well worth the 8 grand it cost me. You should post before pics....

I'm 5 days post-op rhinoplasty and chin implant right now. Even with recovery in full swing I can tell this is one of the best decisions I ever made. In regards to your families position on rhinoplasty, I think many ethnic women can relate. At the end of the day you gotta live for you and do what makes you happy! As others have said start gathering wish pictures and find a doctor that is comfortable working on black noses and most importantly finds black features beautiful. Check out my page or YouTube videos, if you google "black girl nose job and chin implant" you will probably find me :). Best of luck!

I really love how open and free you are about this, people like you have motivated me to take the leap and i hope to do so before this summer. :)

Thank you :). You know I decided I was gonna do this and I wasn't going to let anyone make me feel bad or insecure about it. I decided that I wasn't going to hide it either, because I shouldn't have to. So far I'm glad I made the decision to be so open bc I've gotten support the whole way through. Some family members have stayed very quiet and that's even better bc if you don't have anything positive to say, please stay quiet! Lol. Good for you for taking the leap! Good luck girl :)

Change Surgeons and Consult Date

Unfortunately Dr. Dejoseph had to reschedule my consultation from FEB. 4th to March 12th. What a bummer. But I been hearing great things about Dr. Chen in Evans, GA. I called yesterday and he was able to get me in for a consultation on Friday. I am so excited because I have a lot of questions that I need answers to before I get this surgery. I’m not hoping for a perfect nose, I just want a smaller version of my nose without losing my ethnic features. Hopefully everything goes well tomorrow. I’m also at the halfway mark with my saving for this surgery; it’s so tempting to spend it on something else! Lol

Found Doctor, Scheduled Surgery, AND SO Nervous!!

I been to all my consultations and I have chosen DR. Dejoseph. His consultation was very informative and he really gave me realistic expectations. I have a huge nose and I knew even after rhinoplasty my nose will still bigger than most. He understood that I want a smaller nose but still keep my ethnic features. I’m so excited and nervous at the same time. My mother does not even know I plan on telling her after it’s done. My surgery date is March 29th. I’m just praying this is the right decision but if I do not do it I will regret it. (I will post my before pics soon)
