$5,000
Today I am having my Panniculectomy with Incisional and Umbilical Hernia repair. I'm down to 197 pounds since having my Gastric Sleeve in 2015. My weight before the Gastric Sleeve surgery was 337 pounds so I'm proud of my progress. It has been an exciting journey and I'll update you after surgery.

Hello! My surgery went well also. I am moving around and watching the drains do their thing. I don't feel bad and I haven't been in much pain either. The doctor removed 8 1/2 pounds of skin on Monday and I was happy to see it go. I am swollen but not to bad and once it subsides, I'll be even smaller but I can definitely see a big difference already. I am happy your surgery went well and we just have to keep moving forward.

Hello,
I am glad to hear that you are doing well. I had my first post-op visit on yesterday and everything went well. The doctor removed one of my drains so I only have one remaining. I hope it comes out next week at my next doctor visit. I am feeling well and still haven't had any pain only minor discomfort periodically. I have reduced the number of dosages of my pain medication but I have to refill my antibiotics because I still have one drain. I'm still swollen but my results looks amazing even with the swelling. The doctor also removed my sutures around my navel on yesterday so I got a good look at my belly button. I'm looking forward to seeing how much I weigh once all the fluids, swelling, etc. is gone. Again, I am happy to hear that you are doing well.

That is awesome. I know you will reach that goal. My goal is between 175 to 180 so once the swelling and fluids are all out of my body and I can see exactly how much I weigh, I will know how many pounds I need to lose. I think it is only 15 pounds max because I was 197.5 before surgery and the doctor removed 8.5 pounds of skin. When I can start walking on the track again, the remaining weight will come off. Congrats on your progress thus far and keep up the good work.

My weight goals are the same.. I was at 193 when I went in to surgery and was told they took off about 4.5 lbs but they where not sure and the doctor didn't log it in his surgery recap.. but I broke down the other day and stepped on a scale and it said 192.. which is awesome because I am so swollen still... how's your posture?? I was told to walk hunched over and sleep and sit in a recliner for two full weeks and when o try to straighten up my mid section is just too tight and swollen to straighten up fully.. concerned but I know how amazing the body is and how skin does stretch.. I had the flap to prove how it stretches for too long!! She glad you are doing well and can't wait to see how you are looking!! Yay panni buddy!!!

That is awesome. I was told to stay away from the scale because I would weigh more due to the fluids and swelling. I will probably get on there soon but since I know the doctor removed 8.5 lbs I am at least that much lighter once everything returns to normal. My surgeon told me to stand up straight and I am almost there but due to the swelling my stomach wont allow me to completely be straight yet. I try a little bit each day to see if I can stand straight so I don't forget. I'm almost there and you will get there soon. Our bodies are truly amazing and will do amazing things. Did the doctor have to reset your belly button also? If so, is it healing okay? We will keep in touch so continue to heal and have a wonderful weekend.

Today I feel a little straighter when I try which is awes me the swelling is down a bit more... and no my doctor did not reset my Belly button... it's weird but it's have nothing but a smooth belly now... going to get a tattoo of one instead... glad you are healing so well!!

You look great!!! Did you have any pain after surgery? How long did it take before you recoversed and we're there any restrictions before or after surgery?

May 21, 2017
Thank you! I didn't experience any only minor discomfort periodically. It has been five weeks since my surgery and I'm moving around well. I know it's going to take time to heal completely but I am feeling much better. I didn't do anything for the first three weeks after surgery but I had my husband and mother in law taking care of me. I still don't lift anything that is to heavy but you have to gradually increase your activities. There were no restrictions before the surgery except no weight gain.

Recovering from Panniculectomy
I had my final drain removed on yesterday and now I can actually take a shower. My surgeon was very specific regarding now showering or taking a bath as long as my drains were in. I am so happy that I followed her instructions because they wanted to make sure I didn't get any infections. The swelling is going down some so that is good news. I still have to be careful and take it easy for the next few weeks.

Yay!! You must feel amazing now that the drain is gone!! Can't wait to see how you look!! Happy healing!!

May 10, 2017
Yes, it is so nice to not have that drain on my side. I am so happy just to be able to take a shower. I am feeling stronger even though I know I still have some healing to do but just to get the surgery behind me is a major accomplishment. I hope to get to my desired weight over the next few months. I hope you are doing well with your recovery and things are healing as they should. I am going to post some photos today.

Before and After
I am finally getting around to uploading some photos of how my stomach looked before and after my Panniculectomy. The transformation is amazing and I feel so much better. Although I am still swollen, I can see how much the surgery has already changed my appearance. I know that when all of the swelling and bruising is gone, I will be totally satisfied with the results. I had an amazing surgeon who is taking great care of me.

Looking amazing!!! So happy for you!! Can't wait to see how the healing journey goes!! Are you still in a binder??

May 11, 2017
Thank you! I am no longer in the binder. My doctor told me to use a body sharper or hi-waist panty girdle so that is what I'm wearing. I had my doctor visit today and everything is going well but I'm still have quite a bit of swelling. I go back to the doctor on June 6th. I hope you are well and healing fine.
Everything went well and the doctor removed 8 1/2 pounds of skins. I feel good just a little weak but I am moving around to regain my strength. I had wonderful surgeon and she did an excellent job. I will post photos after I heal and drains are removed.
