4 weeks post op

WORTH IT$15,000
This morning was the first that I've felt that my lower tummy is basically back to the size it was before surgery. What's exciting about that is that from now on, the reduction in swelling will mean I get to see a smaller, flatter lower tummy than before. :)
At my 3 week post op appt I was released to get back to almost all exercise, yippee! He wants me to ease back into things (lifting, ab work, cardio) and wait until 6 weeks post op before running (or anything high impact). He also wants me to hold off for a couple more weeks (and then ease back into) yoga, particularly any poses that would stretch my stomach. Overall, I'm feeling very energetic and am getting around easily. I'm careful when I reach my arms out/up far, when I squat down, and when I roll over in bed...but other than those times, I'm not having to be cautious with my movements. Even when I sneeze, it's not a big deal.
As far as my scars, most of the black/purple surgical glue is off and I'm getting to see my actual scars now, which feels a little weird/jarring, to be honest. I'm thrilled with the color of my scars. It's very close to skin color in most places...not bright pink, red, or purple like I was expecting. Shape-wise, my scars are a little puffy and puckered in places, but my dr assures me that all of this will smooth out with time, so I'm trying not to worry about it.
Swelling-wise, my lower stomach is still very swollen, but every morning I can tell it's getting a little bit smaller. My upper stomach and ribcage area is noticeably smaller than it was before surgery, which is pretty exciting to actually see a waist. From the lipo, my lower sides and "love handle area" on my back are still swollen, hard, lumpy, and kinda numb...but the other areas where he lipo'd on my back are feeling great now...pretty much back to normal. I think because the sides and lower back got the most lipo and since they are lower down, those areas will take the longest to get back to normal.
I'm very happy with how my breasts are coming along. Size wise, they appear smaller from the front when I'm not in a bra but that's just because they go more out instead of down now. My pre op bras still fit great, so as of now, I haven't lost any size. Yippee! There is still probably a little swelling left, but at my 1 week post op appt, my Dr predicted my breast size would decrease no more than 1/2 cup size from that point, so I'm totally cool with that. Would prefer them to stay exactly this size, but we'll see. :)

You look amazing! Love your scar placement. Hoping my swelling continues yes to go down too, I had my surgery feb 22. It's definitely been a journey it's so strange finally having a flat tummy.
You look great! How is your scarring almost a year out?

Feeling great and loving my new tummy and boobs. I could just kiss my Dr!! :) I'm like 98% sure I'll be able to wear a string bikini and totally hide all of the scars. I ordered one online today, so I'll let you know once I try it on. :) He did a great job with the placement and shape of my tummy tuck scar as well as the ends at each hip (smooth, no dog tags). The shape and size of my new belly button is really nice too. And even though I'm still really swollen (especially in my lower tummy / pubic region), I'm starting to see ab definition up top, which is super exciting! :) As for my breasts, it will take some time for the bottoms to round out and the bruising to fully subside, but I'm really happy with how they look. The nipple placement is just what I wanted and I love how they look natural but also perky. The scar underneath is a perfectly placed smooth arc, hidden right in my breast fold and it doesn't extend too far in or out on my sides. I just couldn't be happier with my Dr, his attention to detail, and how he really listened to me and what I wanted. :)

Had my first post op appt today and it went great! Got my drain out and got to see my scars for the first time and I feel really good about them. I'm swollen and bruised and the scars are new, but taking all of that into account, I'm pretty happy with how things are coming along. My scars underneath my breasts are perfectly positioned to be hidden by my breast fold and they don't extend out too far on either side. My nipples look pleated for the time being but my dr said that they always flattens out, so I'm not sweating it. My right breast is a little flat on the bottom for now, but I was expecting that and know it will round out. My tummy scar is nice and low, smooth, and shaped like a slight smile just like I wanted! It looks worse in the pictures because there is a purple marker line running next to it. The only bummer is that my old belly button hole couldn't be totally cut off, so I have a vertical scar where that was stitched back together. But I have plenty of stretch marks right there and that vertical scar will fade to nothing (bc there is no tensioning it) and it will blend right in. So I'm not sweating that either. Both ends of my tummy incision look really good and I don't see any "dog tag" type pleating. I'm still extremely swollen, especially right in the middle of my tummy incision so the shape is a little weird there for now. Even though I'm super swollen, I can see muscle definition in the middle starting just above my belly button and going up. How exciting! :) Also, I'm not standing 100% upright yet but I'm getting close.
