Follow-up

I had my follow-up last Thursday. I got my first measurement and my waist is down almost 2 inches from the day I had surgery. My doctor took me off the garment (abs cincher) I was using being it was totally even on my tummy and I had a couple of lumps. I am now wearing a firm control body suit. It has made a huge different in first few days since the change. I was pleasantly surprised. I am still happy with my result progress.
I am not happy with the continuous discomfort. I can’t comfortable but I am still sore. I start the day out good and by 2 pm I am starting to hurt and the swelling is back. Yeah, I know it has only been 3 weeks Thursday but it is something to consider. The continuous ache is just not making me happy. I am taking ibuprofen for pain and it helps but I having to do it more that I want to. No regrets but I can truly say this was my first and last procedure.

No pics this week. I will post them next Thursday because it will be a month.

I have been considering liposuction for a long...

I have been considering liposuction for a long time. I felt as though I needed to make a real commitment to exercise first. So I got a personal trainer for 3 months and eat healthier but not perfectly. I saw some results in every place but my tummy. So I took the leap. I went to a few consults before settling on Dr. B. He had a great bedside manner but he very direct. I felt comfortable. So a week later, I scheduled my appointment and 6 weeks later it was done.

I went in for my preop about 10 days before. I got my labs done and got my prescriptions which was antibiotic something for pain and nausea if needed. The nurse also recommended Arnica to assist with the swelling and bruising that would be forthcoming. It was real and I started getting nervous about 2 days before.

BIG Day- It was finally here! I got a small bit to eat and I was on my way. I arrived about 8 am. They took me back immediately. The nurses took my vitals and a sample. I went into the room got undressed and said a prayer. The doctor marked my stomach of my upper and lower abdomen area the he was going to work on. I got my meds to relax and local anesthesia. It was done about 11. The nurses got me up so I could be fitted for my garment. I sat for about 30 minutes to make sure I was OK. I was on my way home.

I got home and I was still sleepy from the anesthesia which I expected. I took something for pain and took a nap. When I awake, I had a lot of drainage. I had gone soaked my pad within 2 hours. I had to change frequently but it finally slowed down. I didn't have alot a swelling at that point. I also had not looked at my stomach yet. I slept in my recliner because the garment is not particular comfortable to me.

OK..So Day 2! I had my follow-up to get my drainage checked. Drainage has slowed down. Not as drowsy! The swelling and the pain is starting. I was moving around pretty slow. I did manage to look at my tummy. WOW!!! I was absolutely amazed at what I saw. I got up and walked around every few hours so the stiffness didn't set it. I needed the pain meds every 4 hours. I didn't have much of an appetite and I had some nausea. It lasted 2 days but the meds helped but made me sleepy. Still not comfortable enough to sleep in the bed so back in the recliner I go.

Day 3 and 4- More swelling.. less drainage and drowsiness. Pain is about the same. I finally got over the nausea and ate a little more. Finally, in the bed slept OK.

Day 5- Back to work. Rough day.The pain was pretty bad I had a lot of discomfort with me garment. I was concern that it was gonna affect my contouring. Thankfully, I had a follow-up. My doctor agreed so he gave me a different garment that was a better fit across my stomach.

Day 6 to present.. It has gotten much better. I am loving the difference. I have a follow-up on Thursday. I hope to be clear to start some exercising.
