Incision Seems Irregular and Asymmetrical.

I researched this procedure for about two years and have seen at least a hundred photos taken right after stitches were removed. I have never seen a photo of an incision that slanted down on one side, they (the incisions) all tucked under the nostrils. My surgeon is excellent, with a great reputation, but wants me to wait at least 6 months, I would prefer to get it done and over with because it just doesn't look right. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Concerned

jojo2018
I spoke with my surgeon this morning and understand that the swelling needs to subside more... What concerns me is that that the surgeon won't even acknowledge that the incision is uneven. I've sent several photos and was told by the surgeon that they don't need to look at them, and said it's all in my head. I would feel much better if there was at least some acknowledgment from the surgeon as to what I'm talking about and serious assurance that it can and will be fixed (with no additional charges). I had some cosmetic surgery 15 years ago and there was an issue... The surgeon acknowledged the problem and offered to fix it for free. He did fix it and everything turned out great! I saw him a few years ago for a septoplasty and he did a little rhinoplasty as well. We have a great relationship and the only reason I didn't see him, for this is that he didn't have any experience in doing lip lifts. I understand that mistakes are made, but would like assurance that the surgeon understands and sees what I'm talking about (at least look at my photos), is that too much to ask?

Your incision is definitely uneven and I don't think it's because of swelling. It looks like he cut too low on the left side (your right).

Thank you so much for the validation! The photo is actually reversed, my camera (photo booth) on my mac laptop makes it look that way... it's actually the left side. Thanks again!

Oh, sorry! You had the correct side :-)

You're welcome. I felt kind of bad telling you that because no one wants to be told their surgery was botched. But I wanted to be honest. Maybe you should tell your surgeon it's not in your head and refer him to my comment.

Its pretty obvious that the incision is uneven, and it is not in your head! He should aknowledge that ,but if I were you I wouldnt do anything for at least a year! I know they say 6 months is ok,but things still change for about a year, you might see that the scar got streched out more, and is more visible so you could get it corrected and cut it out ,or you might heal up nicely that you wont even really see the scar so it wont be so uneven looking, It seems that this is such small procedure but it takes a long time to really heal up,so I would wait as long as you can to correct it .Hope your surgeon takes a closer look and admits it is uneven, good luck.

Thank you so much for your comment and suggestions, I've been depressed and it helps to hear from people like you.

Dont get depresed over this,it seems to be easy to fix! I know it sux casue you have to do it again, but only one side now, but sometimes things happen to the best surgeons, Im sure he wanted to do a good job, I just wish he would admit it is uneven and tell you he will fix it,so you could have some piece of mind ! Im sure he will once he will see its not healing even after few months.Just dont stress over this, its not worth it! .

I had a doctor tell me somewhat the same thing about another type procedure. Did he think just because he spent more time in school that he could lie to me and I would believe it? What ARROGANCE!!

Poor grammar...

Sorry, poor grammar! "and said it's all in my head." correction, "The surgeon told me that it's all in my head."
