WORTH IT
I had lip lift (bullhorn style) done on October 8, 2014 at Dr.Morgan's office in Midtown. The whole procedure took about an hour under local anesthesia. There was no pain during or after the procedure, I got prescribed painkillers just in case, but there was no need for them. Swelling was at its worst on days 2 and 3, I assumed it would be the lips, but it was the nose and cheeks. Swelling of lips and cheeks went down dramatically on day 4, the nose stayed swollen up to two weeks.
The scar didn't give me any uncomfortable feeling, it started inching really bad on week three after I started applying silicon gel on it, but there was never pain. Sutures were removed on day 5 and I tried to stay calm and do as less motion as possible not to stretch the scar. I went to work on day 6 with some make up applied to the scar.
My columella was 1.8 mm long and it became 1.3 mm after the procedure. My two main goals were reached - I wanted to have an invisible scar under the nose and upper teeth shown 2-3 mm. The lip corners looked down at the beginning making the mouth "fish like", but it changes slowly.
Overall my experience with Dr.Morgan was wonderful. She and her assistant Gina are the nicest people ever and make you feel very comfortable and confident. I rate my experience with Dr.M. 12 out of 10.

Hi Loly, just wondering if you are still feeling tightness when smiling?

Yes Artesslanyc, I do. I have some job don in the past and know that the scar becomes soft after 6 month. I also feel the very tip of my nose is still swollen.

Congrats Lulu! You did it. Is the review coming? And don't worry about nominees, just keep putting ice as much as you can stand it.

Is it still numb today Lulu? Lower lip may be numb due to the numbing shots he gave you. Did he place numbing shots on the inside of your mouth too?

My question Lulu is did your surgeon do a nerve block by injecting the inside of your mouth?

Can you explain where the numbness is? Is it just the pick part of the lower lip? Ask your doctor, but there is also a section on this site to ask doctors. I would ask doctors what causes lower lip numbness after a skin only upper lip lift. I am so sorry sweetie. I hope it is inflammation or a pinched nerve that will resolve. I have no idea as I have never read that happening with upper lip lift to lower lip. Your doctor ONLY did skin only upper lip lift correct?

I meant to write "pink" part of your lower lip and how far the numbness goes to.

looks great! It's really settled nicely. would you consider posting a closeup of the scar tissue? The base of my nose is exposed and there would be no place to hide the scar for me so I am quite interested in viewing the suturing techniques doctors use. Has your scar started turning white yet or is still in the red-ish stage? thanks for posting.

Looks great! The more research I do, the more I'm convinced I need this. Thank you sharing your experience.
