Tooth show
Sierra017July 14, 2015
Also, sorry about no pics with much tooth show...I have a porcelain veneer on one of my front teeth that looks okay in real life, but looks a lot bigger than the other front tooth in photos, so am self conscious of it in photos a bit, but I do have more tooth show now, after the procedure. Need to get a better veneer now, lol.

First of all, am not the type to write a review, but due to such a nice outcome, really wanted to post this...I had been interested in this particular procedure for awhile now, and finally decided just to do it. Am so glad I did, as I really am very pleased with the outcome. The swelling is, of course, the worst on the second and third day, but after that it improves pretty quickly. After the stitches were taken out, was surprised at how tiny the incision site was. My friend said she couldn't even see it, as she was surprised after seeing my bloody stitches at first, hehe. After the stitches are taken out, the incision heals very quickly.

Thank you very much for sharing on RealSelf! Did you experience much pain throughout the recovery?
July 16, 2015
Yes, it was not that bad...the worst part is the tight feeling with the stitches, but once they are gone, then it really is not bad...just the weird feeling for awhile, when you want to eat crunchy har things(tried staying away from hard to chew foods for a few weeks...
I had a really bad reaction to the scopolamine patch but that had nothing to do with the surgery, or the incision. A headache and nausea like I have never had in my life....

I am having a lip lift done in the fall by Dr Morgan... Could you please tell me how many millimeters she removed? Also.....is the Tooth show significant because that is a reason why I am having it done? thank you

Hey, I just tried calling her office a little bit ago because I had forgotten...It was late in afternoon, so I will post that tomorrow. I think she removed 4mm(mm I think it is measured in?). I know that I definitely have more tooth show now, it's just my front tooth veneer looks HUGE with the ipad camera, so it makes my mouth look bad even though you cannot tell much in real life. I did add a few more photos with a little tooth show and more up close view of the scar.
I will post what my philtrum started at tomorrow, and exactly how much she took off. Also, she did say that if it is not enough, then she can remove more later, and that it is better to remove a little each time, whether than remove a whole lot at once(less likely to pull your nose down that way, I think). Not fun to go through surgery again, but if the result is better that way, then probably safer...

I meant, have heard it is better to remove conservatively, at first, versus removing over 5mm at one time. But, I do have quite a bit more tooth show even with 4mm removed.

Hey thank you, and my apologies for not getting back sooner...busy weekend.
Anyway, spoke with the office and looks like before surgery, the middle part of lip to nose was 1.6 cm and lateral edge of lip to nostril was 2 cm. She took off 4 mm in the central part of lip to nose, and 5 mm lateral. Hope that helps...

Thanks, glad I could help. Honestly, now that things have settled, kind of wished I had asked if she could have removed 6 or 7 mm at lateral edge(sides)of lips just because would have liked a little more lift there, but trusted her when she expressed caution for us to stick to the conservative side. Not sure if taking too much from the lateral sides of mouth has the potential to pull down nose more? But anyway, she said it is always better to not take enough, versus taking too much, as you can take more off at a later date...and that is probably rue as I have noticed a few people on these reviews have done two lift lift surgeries spread apart instead of taking off the whole amount at once...
