I haven't done a great job with updates but just wanted to let you guys in on how things turned out....I was having a lot of problems seeing out of my right eyes the whole week I had my contacts in...they were uncomfortable and my eyes were dry 90% of the time (I had to use drops every 30 mins or so). When I got the contacts removed things kept getting better and better :) My vision is improving more and more each day and it's suppose to continue to improve! I love the feeling of waking up and being able to see everything! Some of the problems I'm still facing with now still would be dryness and light sensitivity. I only have dryness when I wake up in the morning or waking up from a nap...it goes away quickly once I use my medicated eye drops (but I'm suppose to stop using in like a week or so). As for light sensitivity...:( it's still bad...I still can't drive bc my eyes are still so weak. I can't watch tv at all and I can't stare at the computer for more than 20 mins...but the light sensitivity is only a temporary struggle. :)

I have worn glasses since I was in the 5th grade and was told that because I had contacts on for so long it misshaped my eyes and that creating a cornea flap was a bad choice. Over the course of three weeks consultation he decided it was best to do the laser correction on the surface of my eyes. I had it done yesterday. The process was pretty much painless for my right eye. When he started on the left one I felt a pinch when he was scraping off the top layer of my cornea but he fixed that problem by adding more numbing drops. I was sent home feeling great, no pain, my vision was SO much better already even though everything looks a bit fuzzy. I was told that its very normal and that when they removed the contact (used as a bandage for my cornea) the fuzziness would go away. I was told to rest the whole day and sleep would increase the healing process... I was having a had time falling asleep until hours later even with the help of sleeping pills...when I woke up around midnight I felt a sharp pain in one eye. It felt like I had a ton of dirt in my eye. I freaked out and called the nurse and told her what happened and she said it was odd that I was only feeling pain in one eye so she concluded that the contact shielding my open cornea must have slipped out and there was nothing she could do until the doctor came in the next morning at 8. So I had to wait it out all night long, it was so painful my eyes kept watering all night; I couldn't sleep. As soon as I got to Dr. Kolzaraky's office he looked at me right away. He had to use numbing drops to even look at my swollen eye because opening it was just too painful. He found the contact pushed under my upper lid so he removed it and put a new one in and the problem was solved. The pain was gone. Now I'm back at home making sure I use all the drops they prescribed me. My next appointment is next week. They will be removing the contacts so I'm super excited to see how much my vision improves. :)
