Tessa is very experienced. She told me what to expect every step of the way. She took her time, and made sure I was comfortable (as comfortable as possible). She gave good post procedure instructions and told me she would call tomorrow to check on me. She said the first 2 hours after would be the worst and she was right - really bad sunburn feeling - like really bad....almost to the point of nausea. I have never even had a peel though; however, I don't consider myself a wimp after having both my full term babies unmedicated! I iced my face and sprayed with spring water tonight. Also took half a Percocet I had left over from a sinus surgery, so I feel really pretty good now!

Thank you for sharing your Halo experience - I can't wait to see your results. I like the idea of spraying your face with spring water, that sounds refreshing!

Did you have any numbing cream applied prior to the procedure?

Good morning. I called Dunwoody Dermatology this morning to schedule with Tessa. I just spoke to Tessa on the phone two days ago. This morning they told me she has taken a "leave of absence" and Lorrie Schaen would be taking over. :( I am very cautious about procedures such as this. I felt really comfortable with Tessa. Very disappointed. I am going to speak with Lorrie next week. We'll see.

So my redness and burning sensation has turned into the "bronzing" effect. Very tight skin - feels like it is about to start to crack and peel. Feeling a little itchy. At this point I am just hoping I look good by next Friday and Saturday for the Christmas party's I am to attend!

6 weeks post Halo Treatment

It's been just a little over 6 weeks since I had my Halo treatment done on my face. The "crusting" period (they call it something else) really sucked and lasted a good week. I didn't use any makeup during this time until just at the end - a little powder. i did end up with a little dermatitis around my chin and a slight bacterial infection which also sucked, but that was probably my own fault for washing my face too frequently and aggressively.

All in all, it did seem to brighten me up and give me the "halo glow" for a few weeks. Now I don't see a "glow", but my melasma on my forehead and cheeks is definitely improved and a few sunspots are gone.

I actually had a consultation with Tessa a few weeks ago. I also went to a lunch & learn at Dermatology Consultants near Piedmont Hospital. The presentation was good. The promised a one and one consultation afterwards and I asked for that. Well.... let's just say.... the one on one consultation was really about setting up an appointment. The girl actually just got up and walked out after the appointment was set.... which I intend to cancel. Tessa definately felt much more knowledgeable and willing to spend time with me. Granted, I did pay $25 for the visit with her. I would have paid for the other one too if they had asked. I am very interested in having this procedure and at this point definately feel most comfortable with Tessa.

One thing I did hear at the DC session was about BBL. I assume you didn't have that since you didn't mention it. According to the presenter at this session the BBL is what takes care of the the broken veins, which I do have some of. I have left a message with Tessa to ask her about that. When she calls and we talk about that I will probably set up an appointment with her to have the procedure.

I can definately see a difference in your skin BTW. I know some people have it more than once. Do you anticipate having it again?
