I decided to document my journey to straight teeth. I always come on here to see reviews of others so I want to add mine.
My teeth are JACKED and I never had braces as a child. I've been dying to get them, and now is my time! lol I have 2 very high caninesand overbite, some crooked teeth in the back and serious overcrowding. Oh. And I still have all of my wisdom teeth.

Before I can get to the orthodontist however I've had to get ally of dental work done. I've already gotten 4 fillings and a root canal a few days ago.
I have about 3 more dental visits scheduled THEN I can have my consultation with an orthodontist.
Hoping I can qualify for fast braces! I'll keep you posted. My next dentist appointment is Oct. 17th

Be sure to see a qualified orthodontist, not a general dentist who dabbles in ortho. Fastbraces does not necessarily mean your teeth move faster. It is a method general dentists use to align only the front teeth, without concern for the bite as a whole....so treatment time is more limited....and so is the result and your satisfaction with it.

Thank you for the advice. I will also be considering traditional braces. Althought the treatment time is quicker with fastbraces, I really want good dental hygeine.

Hello,

So I had my dental appointment and right now I have a fake tooth in my mouth until my "real" one is delivered and installed. LOL. After that, I will get a cleaning. And I should be ready for braces.

Also, I had a consultation for FastBraces in Smyrna, Ga. She took X-rays and Pics of my mouth and discussed everything with me. The cost of the fast braces will be about $4,000+ which is what I expected. I was also informed about Turbo braces which is quicker than fast braces (But I'm not interested in the price). Anyway, she told me that my pictures had to be reviewed by a board and they would let her know whether I qualify for FastBraces.

I was also informed that the canine tooth pictured on the right may have to be extracted because there is not enough space to bring it down. Also, another tooth in the back will need to be extracted. The doctor informed me that traditional braces is another option because I am not too fond of having my canine extracted. I am supposed to hear back on Thursday, Nov. 2nd about whether I qualify and what they recommend.
I will keep you guys updated.
