Doing well. I go for a follow up in a few weeks and hoping to be dismissed!

Wondering and sorry if I missed where you outlined why this happened. Was that explained what happened with the one eye? I'm considering lid surgery and when I see things like this, it makes me think twice. Glad your corrective surgery turned out well.

Hey. I will never know for sure what happened but it was suspected that my original doctor nicked an artery/vessel and I hemorrhaged. This doctor attempted 2 revisions to correct my problem and each time the result was worse. Revisions were done very soon after my original surgery, which I was told was too aggressive and resulted in terrible scar tissue.
I believe that my original doctor tried to the best of his ability to correct the problem and I have no ill feelings toward him. He told me that he had never had a patient that this had happened to and he had been doing this surgery for many years. I have several friends who have used him and their experience has been nothing short of fantastic. Dr. Codner, the doctor who fixed my eye, also told me he had never seen anything like this either.
So, I feel like what happened to me must be very rare. (Actually, Dr. Codner teaches other doctors from all over the world and he told me that those doctors observing my surgery will most likely go through their whole careers and never see another surgery like mine.) I tell people that you know complications can happen...you just never expect it to happen to you. Wishing you well should you decide to have this surgery. I love my eyes now!

Thanks so much for your quick response. Glad it all worked out for you in the end. Really torn about proceeding because I fear making things worse or trading one problem for another and to pay for all that....
If anyone could understand that, it would be me. Research your doctor options and if you can come to Atlanta, I will recommend an excellent doctor! If you decide to do it, let me know how it goes. Take care & God bless...

Going back for follow up appointment in July. I'm doing really well. Dr. Codner had told me that it would be a 2-year recovery. I'm 4 months away from completing it and doing very well. So relieved and thankful.

Thank you. Just went to your page and read your story. Yay, you! So glad you found someone that could help you, too. Sharing my story to encourage others is my only reason for participating in this site. After 2 failed correction attempts, I know how hopelessness feels. So thankful that I found a doctor that would take my case and was successful in correcting my eyes!
