26 Year Old with Slight Double Chin. I Am 5'6" 120 Lbs - Atlanta, GA
ORIGINAL POST
I have had a double chin all my life. My parents...
WORTH IT$2,800
I have had a double chin all my life. My parents always told me it would go away when I got older, but here I am 26 years old, and I still have a double chin. I was the captain of my lacrosse team in highschool, all american player, was on the triathlon team in college and placed in my age group quite a few times. I got to the point where I was so angry about my double chin, I stopped all sports and decided to run 2 hours a day and keep my calories under 500 cals/day. This was extremely unhealthy and I almost had to be hospitalized at 109lbs (which is very skinny for 5'6"). But at 109lbs, guess what i still had? A FREAKING DOUBLE CHIN!
At that moment, I decided I couldn't do this anymore, risk my health over something stupid, so when I graduated college, I started learning to cook and joined a gym. I also met my husband who is a profession athlete, and he gave me the confidence to not obsess over my weight. I workout 6 days per week, eat 1700 cals per day, and I am actually more physically fit looking than I was when i was 109lbs (i looked like gumby back then).
My choice to get the chin surgery was not because I was obsessed with weight, but more so because I have gotten to a point in my life with I am in control of my weight and happy.
I just got the surgery yesterday, and so far I haven't seen my results, I still have the bandage on, but the pain is minimal, and the surgery was a breeze!

So beautiful! I'm skinny as well and I have a double chin, I'm only 17 but it makes me sooo insecure. I'm hoping to work and save up money to get it. It looks so great, so glad that you're happy with the results. Thank you for sharing.

Hi you have an amazing result! I was wondering how soon can you see the shape defining? Also, was the swollen pretty bad? How many days did you stop wearing the warp in day time? Thank you so much for your info! :)

Your results are amazing! I hope all is still going well. I can relate so much to your story. I got mine from my mom. Blah. Anyway, your story has inspired me to further research and actually consider doing this. It would be so amazing to not worry about it when posing for pictures, ya know?! Thank you for sharing your experience and photos!

You are so beautiful! ... and your results look great! I'm in the same boat as you. I've always been no heavier than 125 (5'8) but I have a double chin and my face looks as if I'm 50 pounds heavier. I love your story! Thanks so much for sharing! XO

You have a beautiful face, and your eyes are gorgeous! I hope you have great results.
I completely understand your reasoning for this procedure (I have a similar feeling about my chin), and I'm sure it'll be something you're SO happy you did for yourself! hope one day I can stop contouring mine away haha. For now, makeup will have to do.
Good luck with your recovery! :)

Thank you! I'll continue to post more pictures of my recovery. So far, I barely have any swelling, only take 1 tylenol per day with no pain, and have been wearing my compression 24 hours per day. I haven't seen my chin yet because there is still a white bandage for compression underneath the actual compression garment, but I get that off Tuesday.

I'm so glad you've chosen to share your experience.and hope the surgery achieves the look you are hoping for.
What particular kind of liposuction did you have? Smart or slimlipo?
Thanks!

My doctor used PreciscionTX on me, which is basically the same as smart lipo...same company makes the device, it just has one heat setting vs. the 3 heat settings on smart lipo. PrecisionTX is only used on the face, whereas smart lipo can be used all over the body. Honestly, I don't think there is much of a difference, just different marketing. It is literally the exact same laser when you compare the specifications on the website.
UPDATED FROM nikstric
5 days post
Still very swollen, but I cried when I took a sneak peak under the bandage at what i saw.
I cried for happiness. I am only 5 days post and the pics say everything. I can't wait for the swelling to go down and see full results! P.S. I have worn my compression garment 24/7, only taking it off to run into stores quickly, no longer than 5 mins off my head for 5 days...so ladies....PLEASE WEAR COMPRESSION!

Thanks for starting a review and for already adding an update and pics! I hope you keep us posted on the rest of your healing. How long do you have to wear the compression garment?
Sounds great! Working at home is always a perk for recovery :)
