WORTH IT
Just wanted to share an update on my experience after a year +
Pros: My boobs still look great
CONS: I have TERRIBLE keloid scarring, despite following all of my post op recommendations and spending $100's on creams and scar gels/patches and some type of "skin scraping" treatment that did nothing. I even had a scar revision SURGERY with Dr. Chang July 2016, where she went in and removed the scars and gave me a cortisone injection. I have since been back for several repeat (extremely painful) injections and nothing is helping. I have been referred to a physician to have radiology tx as the only other option, but I am actively exploring my other options. Dr. Chang explained that this was a very rare instance, and that I am her ONLY patient to have had this type of horrible, painful scarring. BTW myself nor anyone in my immediate family have a hx of keloids. I would strongly advise women of color to beware at this point. Cute perky boobs with nasty ugly scarring is no bueno. I will upload new photos soon.

I mistakenly posted the update before I was done. I'm using the app, didn't see an option to edit or delete the update...?
Anyhoo....I saw Dr. Chang today & got my 2 external sutures removed and my tape removed. I was advised that everything is healing fine. Beginning next week, I can remove the tape at home and begin using creams and oils for my scars :-)
I can begin exercising in about 2 weeks
I come back for a follow up with Dr. Chang in a month, at that point I'll be able to graduate to underwire bras. Size and shape are lovely, it's been a big adjustment for me but I can honestly say I am finally happy with them :-)

Hi! Thanks for sharing your journey with us. I'm having my surgery oct 10 and I'm so ready but I'm a little worried about the adjustment. Going from seeing myself with large breast most of my life, I'm currently a J cup, to seeing myself with smaller breasts, a C cup. How is your experience with that?

It has definitely been an adjustment--especially since I am very curvy (I have a 29 inch waist & 43inch hips, yikes!) but overall when I look at all the clothes and swimsuits I have wished I could wear all this time, and now they fit & look GREAT, it makes it all so worth it! Just imagine going braless if you wanted to---you are going to love it! :-) good luck to you, you're going to do great

They look so good! I had my breast reduction recently. Do you know what scar creams or oils you are going to use? I just started using bio oil today. I'm 1 week post op I want to also use a cream just not sure of what kind
