I choose to get a breast reduction this year...
$6,700
I choose to get a breast reduction this year because I could no longer handle the weight of them. I've had large breast since the 5th grade. Big busted for 24 years! They have been the source of stares, jokes, and admiration (wanted and unwanted).
I've always thought about getting a breast reduction but was scared of the scarring and surgery in general. My healing is not going well. I am bleeding through my clothes, I'm in a lot of pain having shakes, fevers and night sweats. The Dr minimizes my concerns and tries to make me feel like I am over reacting. She's told me not to go to the emergency room. She just keeps dragging me into her office every day with no clear explanation of what's going on. Something is wrong this just can't be a normal recovery process. I would appreciate feed back from others to gage if I'm in bad hands with my surgeon or if this is part of the normal healing process.

I'm horrified!
Yes, we're seeking other care options because something is not right with Dr Kavali's approach to preventative care. She continues to minimize the severity of the situation and waits for things to get worse before she takes action. My best friend came with me today and we had to ask until we were "blue in face" for wound care and/or preventive care options and she kept insisting that it was fine and we should just wait until Monday to come in the office. Stating that the ER would not know how to care for this. We kept insisting on more services to address this and she finally agreed to seek wound care services and is sending me in for an ultrasound. Why couldn't she take these steps two days ago when I came in with the original wound. She refers to the wound as a "blister". I've never seen a blister this big. A nurse friend saw the picture and thinks there's fluid in my breast. Yet Dr Kavali's office is skirting around the possibilities of something being wrong and keeps down playing the severity of what's happening. We also left with no clear answers as to what caused this. I hope tomorrow I get some clear answers about what's happening when I go in for the ultra sound (with a different speacialist).

I have read LOTS of reviews on this site and this DOES happen sometimes. It will heal up with proper treatment but it is imperative that you make sure there is not any type of scary infection going on that could even be life threatening (like MRSA). The ones where this was taken seriously and treated carefully RIGHT AWAY seem to do fine but there are others where the PS didn't act right away and it got a lot worse resulting in very bad scarring and sometimes the need for further surgery. Good for you for insisting that it be looked in to.

PS it DOES actually look like she did a good job on your breasts and I am confident that once that area starts healing up you are going to look great so hang in there. Hopefully this is just a bump in the road!

Apart from the complication which will heal in the end
the size and shape looks decent

@Jenms27 I am so sorry your are experiencing this. I pray that the ultrasound & the specialist provided you with answers & a solution. I too have seen blisters & open wounds occur in some patients on this site but like the posters said, when treated properly the wounds do heal. It will take time, but it will heal.
How are you feeling today? What type of wound care is the specialist providing? Did you say that you didn't have drains? I know it is hard but please try to think positive. It may be a slight set back but with the proper care, you will be good & your breast will be all healed. Sending hugs & positive vibes your way. And please keep us posted.

How are you doing? I lost track of you for a few days. I'm here in Atlanta and am sending you my thoughts and concern. I'm going for my 2nd post op tomorrow. I went to Emory Aethestic Center for my procedure. Please take care and keep us posted.

prayers for you, please post what you find out and how they treat your wound. This seems to not be too rare with breast reductions and breast lifts. Tension on incisions etc. May not be your surgeons fault, but she should be more involved in helping you resolve it and calm your fears!!
