WORTH IT
Hey ladies! Long time no see! I wanted to post a quick update on my breast reduction. Sorry if this is a little all over the place and not organized... I hit the one year post op mark on October 27, 2018 and things are going great. I'm currently a DDD down from a K. I also gained about 15-20 pounds which I'm trying to lose now, so my boobs are a smidge bigger than they should be. I have sensation in both nipples now, and started wearing underwire bras comfortably about 4 or 5 months after my surgery. I'll also be meeting with my surgeon in January to see if she wants to fix my right nipple, which healed a little wonky because of minor issues.
Overall, I am so happy that I got the surgery. Although a cup size or two bigger than I want to be, I'm so happy I did the surgery. My surgeon was great and the process was great besides the setbacks with my wounds. Shopping is so much fun now. I don't have break downs when trying on clothes anymore because my boobs are too big. During the summertime, I was also killing all of the off the shoulder and strapless bra outfits! ^_^ Everyone says my boobs are a great size for my body size and build. I can walk around the house with no bra on! My confidence is so much better higher than it was before, and I feel like I've become who I'm meant to be. Whenever this extra weight comes off, I'll really be feeling myself then hahaha.
Anyways, thank you guys for following my journey and being a great support system!

8 Weeks Post-Op. Boy does time fly!

Hey Ladies! Long time no see... Thank you to the ladies who reached out to me earlier this week to check on me. It's been a month since I posted. So, let me dive right in and give you guys an update.
1. The last time I saw my surgeon was on December 11th. So, early last week. When she walked into the room, she instantly said that my cleavage looked great from where she was standing. My breasts are also the same size now and most of the swelling has gone down. She saw my open wounds and said that I just need to be patient with them. She said she could do a skin graft but would prefer for it to heal naturally. I was also told to start applying the cream she prescribed me once a day instead of twice a day. I think that has been working for me better as you can see from the pics that the larger wound has started to heal much quicker! I'm also hopping the color on the right areola come back soon. Remember I had an open wound on that areola and a hematoma.
2. I finally found some bras at walmart that don't rub on my wounds. They are the hanes cozy comfort bras, and they are only $8. The only con is that I have to pull them over my head and that can be tricky with keeping the dressings in place to cover my open spots.
3. I started walking on the treadmill this week and that went well. So, I can start doing that and hopefully drop a few pounds from the belly area since I can no longer hide behind my boobs lol.
4. My girls have definitely went through the drop and fluff stage. They seem sooo much bigger now, and they are also softer and feel more like regular breasts. They have some jiggle bounce to them now lolol. Sometimes I feel like I should have went smaller. I asked to be a full D when I probably should have asked to be a small D, but overall, I love them! I have a hard spot on the top of my right breast which my surgeon said is scar tissue. She told me to massage it and if it doesn't get softer within some months that there is a way to break up the scar tissue. It doesn't bother me, so I'll just keep massaging it.
So, that't my 8 week update! I'm starting to apply for jobs (I graduated back in May and then ultimately decided to put off looking for jobs in order to get this surgery... best decision ever!) and get my life back on track. I'm looking forward to the next stage in my life and happy that I can move about with much more confidence and not feeling like I have to hide behind my boobs. I have less anxiety caused by the healing process and my breasts in general now which is great. Also, my boobs look so much better in person haha. But, happy healing everyone, and I hope everyone is loving their new girls :)

You look great! Mine have definitely gotten their jiggle back too. It's weird after having them be so immovable at first. Glad you are getting healed up finally. It is amazing what the body can do. I helped out a relative who had a tumor removed (skin cancer) and had a skin graft but the graft partially failed so we had to wait for it to fill in. And it did! It took a while but I watched it day by day grow scar tissue from the outside in until it finally met in the middle. Yours looks like it should get there pretty soon! Good luck with the job search. It's great that you could take the time to get this done before you move on to the next chapter!

First of all, the girls look great! I am glad that all looks like smooth sailing now. You seem very calm and settled with your progress as you should! Remember I had issues with my nipple which the entire areola skin was ripped off? The color was the same as your wound color. I didn’t post a pic that week by default and the next week a lot of my color was back. That was amazing. I am sure that yours will fill in too, so don’t worry about it. When I when to my 2 months check up on Monday, I told the PA that whether or not my color of my areola would have filled in naturally or not, I would not have gone back under the knife for graphing or anything. I am too much of a chicken for that and I just don’t like being cut, lol. She told me a breast reduction was a big undertaking for someone that doesn’t like surgery, lol. And she is right but I had suffered long enough and realized the trade off.

Your wound are healing up nicely today. That area has been a trouble spot for me too, but finally it has just small scabs that have not had any leakage for at least a full week now, yay.

I am so happy that you are delighted with your boobs, that’s a great feeling! Breast reduction is truly a journey!

Being at a place of contentment with the process and the your results is a great Christmas present. Happy holidays and best wishes in your job search.

Be Blessed!

Thank you! I love them even though sometimes they seem so big lol. But, I have to remember where I started and know that they are much better now! I see the color in my areola come back a little more every day so I'm grateful for that. I cannot wait for those open spots to close but they are closing fast now. But, Happy Holidays!!

Hi glad that you're doing well. My question is how long was your downtime in surgery? ( how long did the surgery take/sleep)
December 24, 2017
Thank you! I was under for 3.5 hours. Originally, I was supposed to be under for only 2.5 hours but my breast tissue was super dense, so it took longer.

Thank you! The jiggle is sooo weird but actually being able to wear a store bought sports bra is even weirder. Never thought I would see the day lol. When she mentioned skin graft, I didn't know much about the procedure. So, I came home and did a little research. I'm certainly glad that she didn't want to do it because it seems like a bit much especially with the possibility of failure. But, I'm healing fairly quick now so no skin graft needed! I remember when the wound first got super big and was freaking out and now it's finally closing. I'm happy I could take the time off too and have a supportive mom and grandma to help me through this journey. But, now it is time to put my big girl panties on and go get a job haha. Happy Holidays!

All I have to say is you look amazing and what a very long and hard process for you with some of your open wounds. But it would be good if you could post us with an updated picture even now. How are you doing being able to fit into regular shirts and all of that I’m so thankful that you were able to go through this process. Be blessed today and look forward to any updated pictures you can

Hi, i had a breast reduction and lift a year ago in September... I look fabulous!! Im 50 and was a 32J... Now im a D cup. I still have not purchased a bra. Been wearing sports bra's. I have been working off the pouch you see after reduction. I am fit but after reduction the tight stomach went with the big boobs!!! Lol. Take your time with extreme work out, do not wear anything tight across the chest. No bra shopping now, the size will change so many times. Get plenty of rest. Too much activities still makes my breast swell and its been a year. The surgery is serious and it takes time to heal. I kelp everything clean and put nothing on my breast. Kelpt them dry and let nature take control. I went days without even looking at them trying to find anything wrong. Because i was going crazy and obsessing. You look good. Just please slow down, rest, take it easy. You got plenty of time to shop, work out, hang out. Let them heal and get pretty and sexy and you will be so glad!!! Good luck

Thank you for all of the advice! I'm loving having smaller boobs! I'm just not enjoying the healing time and having a stomach that pokes out a little far to the point I look pregnant lol. But, a lot of the ladies on here have also talked about how we hid our stomachs behind our boobs. But, not anymore! haha. I plan on wear sports bras for a while. I'm actually still wearing surgical bras because they aren't loose. I can't wait to get to the pretty and sexy stage though!
