Here are some promised scar pictures. This is where I was messed up the most. It took me 5-years to be brave enough to wear a short sleeve shirt and everyone still looks at them. The arm scars have already gone through one revision here and you can imagine how much worse they were. Also the same ditzy surgical assistant who screwed up my arms, logged into the computer to get the same size implants. I corrected her in the pre-op appointment that my right implant was supposed to be larger than the left to even them out. Obviously she didn’t listen because I came out with the same on both sides and an uneven breast size. I’m about to pay $12.5k to get them fixed by another surgeon in FL.

I'm sorry for your experience! From what I have seen Atlanta, really does not have good plastic surgeons compared to other places. Be careful with Florida as surgeons are not required by the state to carry malpractice insurance there, which to me is terrifying. I did have my BA done in Westin, Fl some 21 yrs ago before I knew all this. Thankfully all went okay!

I know I owe y’all so many more recovery pictures and things I went through for scar revisions, etc. But I will tell you, after you drop this excess skin and feel so good, you just can’t help but getting in better and better shape! Dr Kavali did an amazing job contouring my body, and I’m still appreciative!

Thank you! :) In 2008 I weighed 260 pounds! It’s been a long road!

Possible to get pics of actual incision areas?
August 28, 2022
Sure! Let me get my daughter to help me and I’ll post them. :)

Would love to see the incision areas as well. I just had the lower body lift/full tummy tuck along with lipo in my thighs to prep for stage two surgery where I will have all the remainder done that you had. This was done 5 weeks ago. I’m really curious about the thigh and arm scars. Do you find it to be very noticeable? Does it hinder you from wanting to wear clothes that show those areas?

Mine are very noticeable and I’ve already had one scar revision on my arms. I’ll get my daughter to help me take pics. I went five years before I wore a short sleeve shirt and I still see when my scars catch someone’s eyes. Same thing about shorts, but the leg scars got better as I lost more weight.

Recovery - Days 6 through 7

Cherry Juice Girl
Christmas! We had Christmas Eve dinner at our house since I couldn't travel. Honey Baked Ham did the cooking! Lol So far I've been staying upstairs in my recliner and I've only been down the stairs for my post op appointment on day 4. But I am going to mingle for dinner.

I am still not wearing underwear because of the drain tubes, so I slip on Underwear, pull the drain tubes down through the leg holes (2 tubes per leg) and pin them up on my binder. I found this more comfortable than having the tubes pulled up and out. Then I slipped on a pair of yoga pants and had my hospital gown on. It was still the most comfortable thing to cover me all up, and hide the drains. (Nobody wants to see those while eating.) I should have mentioned that I ended up owning my hospital gown because I wore a tee shirt and didn't think to bring a button down to the hospital! Duh!

But that's okay, because it's been so convenient. These days my dad's been helping me out of my chair to go to the bathroom. So, I slip it on, and voila, some discretion. Hobble to the bathroom and sit on the toilet. Easy peasy. He helps me off the toilet and back into the recliner. When he leaves the room, I strip it off and use it as a makeshift throw blanket. Lol

I made it downstairs for dinner and hung out for a couple of hours. Then I started getting sore and it was time to say goodbye. At least I got to watch all of the kiddie cousins exchange gifts. :)

So how you doing? We had our surgeries on the same day, I think, but you got way more done, so you must still be pretty rough feeling! How goes it?
January 12, 2015
Hey there! Yeah, I've been having some issues with my thighs, I'll have to update my review. But I knew legs are usually problematic. Also, it's really hard to keep my underarms dry. But let than that, I'm feeling pretty excited. When I'm hurting I look down and remember why I did it. :) How are you feeling?
January 12, 2015
Pretty good. Still have one small open spot at the back, and swelling, soreness, etc, but so glad I did it too. Even with the current amount of swelling I still have, it would still be worth the pain. I just wish I could fastforward through the painful bits and get to the new clothes shopping and freely able to move my body parts. I plan on doing my thighs and possibly arms some day too, but this time was just for the things insurance will cover-lower body lift and breasts.

You look awesome! Congrats! May I ask your age. I need all that done to, but think i'm too old to do it all at once, but sure would like to. ♡
January 12, 2015
Sure! I'm 40. :) I sometimes wonder if it was too much, but I only wanted to miss work one 3 week session instead of two. And I figured I'd only have to be in pain once. Kind of like having twins when you only want 2 kids!
January 12, 2015
I agree. I'm 63 so I am probably too old. But, I think I 'm 30!! Feel like it! Thanks for answering me. ♡
January 12, 2015
Well, if you don't have the work restrictions like I do, then 2 surgeries might be easier. I can guarantee that no matter how you do it, you will love it! :)

Hi You not too old ~I'm 60 and am 10 weeks post from a circumferentail ( all the way around) and a mini face lift at the same time ~ 4 1/2 hrs in surgery. The few days after surgery were tough ( long story) but now that I'm healing I'm so glad I did it! I am a small person I was 98 lbs day of surgery and I weight the same now ~ I think being so small and older I had a harder time tolerating the anesthesia which caused the issues I had after ~ However I am very fit and healthy otherwsise so I think that was helpful as time has gone by. As long you as you pass the preop physical and really be prepaired for recovery meaning you have the time to do it ~you should be just fine. Like you I'm more like 30 than sixty ~ now I'm a bit closer to LOOKING 30 ~ well maybe late 40's or good early fifties LOL! At some point I will be posting my story with photos but it will be while as it has been quite a process thus far and I am working on putting it all together ~ I say go for it!!!

If you have to pick what's next, I love my arms! It also helped with fitting into some old coats and my old "skinny' clothes! :) Moving freely will be awesome! And I can't wait to ditch the binder for some Spanx. I found some discounted name brand at Kohl's called Naomi & Nicole and they were much less expensive than Spanx

ArynnOctavia, how did you get insurance to cover a lower body life? I didnt think insurance covered anything except breast reductions. I cant wait to have this lower body lift surgery done. I am scheduled for next month! :)
January 14, 2015
My panniculus hung down so low, I was having chronic yeast infections and tearing of the skin that wouldn't heal (for months!) underneath. Technically, insurance only covered the front part, the panniculectomy, but sometimes when people just have the front done, they can get weird dog-ear type things on their hips where the edges of the seam are, especially when having a lot of skin removed (like I did). I didn't want that, so I paid out-of-pocket for the back part, while insurance covered the front and the breasts.

You look like a different person! Amazing result...please keep updating :)
