I will be getting this much needed procedure done...
WORTH IT$9,300
I will be getting this much needed procedure done really soon. Any advice for preparing to be down for a while with two small kids? My husband will do the best he can but it really concerns me not being able to do things. Had two c-sections not sure what to expect as far as pain goes. Any other things I should know that people forget to mention?

Following!
I have 4 kids, ages 1, 4, 5, and 7. My last baby was a c section, and it was tough but I managed and my partner was a great help. I also took nothing more than extra strength Tylenol and Advil for the pain after my c section. I'm hoping that the pain is comparable. I'm going to prefab a couple of weeks worth of dinners. Maybe do some baking so we have bran muffins and easy grab snacks. I'm really not sure what to expect as far as pain goes though. The first 2-3 day PO I will be in a hotel with a friend as I'm travelling for surgery. So hopefully by day 4 I will be able to walk to the kitchen at least?! Looking forward to hearing more from the community!

Well at this point it's kind of on a hiatus until my wife goes back to work. She's on strike right now so money is tight! The plan was august 2015, and hopefully we can still manage that. But only if she's back at work. Fingers are tightly crossed!

Second Thoughts???
Now that time is getting closer for the procedure I feel a little overwhelmed. I am trying to work things out mentally to prepare myself and prep my family. I am ready for my body to get back to a "normal" pre baby look but just wish there was some magic machine to ZAP my problem away....

Hi Tyneel, I've had my hernia fir 4 1/2 yrs. I have been in pain for about a year. What pushed me is that I have recently become a fitness instructor. It is really limiting my ability to do everything I'd like for my classes. It affects my daily life also. So I figured it was time to get it fixed.

Hi , yes I have had 6 csections
& had no issues until this last pregnancy . All 5 I had a horizontal uterine incision for every csection, this 6 th one , totally new dr, decided to give me a vertical incision , which resulted in my hernia. I knew something was different , even on the operating table during delivery. This hernia is affecting my daily life, it's painful , I can't laugh , have sex, or do any activities with my kids, I'm always thinking about it. Instead of enjoying my 3 month old, I have to worry about my bowels strangulating & leaving my kids motherless because I live out of town/ city. Kudos to you for having it & tolerating it for 4 1/2 years. I ve had mine 3 months & it sucks. I am trying to get it fixed but it worries me because I had an ultrasound & my bowels are protruding & it is getting bigger . So I really pray a PS can fix it soon, but it's scary to go through open surgery & what if it comes back & I am refusing a mesh repair because of the bad reviews. So I'm paying for a tummy tuck but what if I pay for nothing & I'm so depressed thinking of all these negative scenarios . So please let me know about your hernia repair & results. Take Care !

Oh wow! Poor thing, YES you have to take care of that ASAP! I sure will let you know how it turns out. If you have a great surgeon he/she will address all of your fears, questions and thoughts during your consultation. Dr. Kavali did my full consultation which was fantastic. She could relate to everything I asked and how I was feeling about everything. She put my mind at ease. I will keep you posted. My pre-op is set for Sept. 8th. I will let you know how that goes.

Getting Ready...
My pre op visit went really well! I paid and everything should go as planned. Now I am working on my list of supplies I will need it when I am down for surgery. I saw some list on the site but half of the stuff on there I don't know what it is. Has anyone found lists that are less complicated to understand to help me prepare for recovery?
Glad to have you here with us and I look forward to seeing your results.
