I am 36 years old. 5 1/2 dr weighing 158 lbs wearing a 34 DDD/E bra. I'm in need of a reduction because of the upper back/neck pain. I'm looking forward to this journey! I had a consul with Dr. Harkins today and he feels strongly about BCBS accepting me for the BR. Keeping my fingers crossed!

I have a second consul with Dr. Stephenson next week and a third consul with Dr. Chang. I hope my insurance will cover it. Anyone has BCBS and approved for the BR?

I think you have very nice breasts. I know what it's like to have the neck and back pain and it really takes a toll on your quality of life. but is it worth having the scars ? you can drastically go down in breasts size from physical activity. it's totally your decision but I think k your boobs are perfect the way they are.

Thanks for the compliment. At first I didn't want to do it bc of the scars. I'm pretty active with workouts but as I got older, I carried more weight in my boobs. Since they are so big, it limits my work out plan. When I run, I feel like im going to punch my eye out with my boobs! Lol

me too and I have triple d cup size. it's hard running.. but I have lost weight and gained weight and it seems to always go to my breasts and my thighs. diet is a huge factor as well. I found once I got off birth control my breasts went down a size as well. maybe talk with your doc and decide what's best for you. what ever makes you happy in long run.

I think your breasts look great! I really do, but I understand how it is when you set your mind to something. Wish you the best of luck!

If you've done your homework so to speak as far as trying alternative treatments the insurance company should cover it.

I'm hoping they cover it! I'll know for sure in a couple of weeks!

Hi did you get insurance approval and what all did you have to do to get them to approve?
February 23, 2016
All you have to do is go to a plastic surgeon and tell them you want a reduction due to back and or neck pain. They work with insurance companies all the time so they will know off top by your appearance if they feel insurance will approve. BCBS requires minimum of 440 cc to be removed from each breast. That's typically like 1 1/2 cup size.

Don't do it I think you should wait until your late 40's

I'm sorry but there is NO WAY OR REASON you need a reduction. Your breasts are beautiful as they are and suit your body. If you want to lose some breast tissue first start by doing a weight loss regimen for at least a year. The money you are going to spend on surgery I would go find a highly experienced personal trainer/coach to help you slim down. Losing fat is very easy if you really want it and follow the process set out by an experienced personal trainer. Look up someone called Nikki Blackketter who is a female online coach.

Thanks for the advise.

Curious why mvp2k is on a breast reduction site if they're not getting or had a breast reduction, and is not supportive of the procedure.

I had my done this year, I am 44 and I only wish I had done it earlier!!!! My only advise , find a really , Really good surgeon, one that is technically good but also an artist. I had to go bit on a cheaper side(still I think they are more expensive here in OZ, I paid $7K AU) I have a lil bit of asymmetry, but still , sooo much better then before.....love running around the house just in a t-shirt, also running to the bus of phone and not having to hold onto my chest- would do it in a heart bit over again. All the best with your surgery,
Blessings xx

My surgery is set for 11/24! I decided to do it around the holidays so that I'm not burning too many PTO days from work! Nervous but ready!!!!
