31 Yo Mom of 2 Crossfitter After Full Tummy Tuck with Muscle and Hernia Repair

After having children I was left with a huge diastasis recti (a muscle separation) and a large ventral hernia. I Crossfit so it was embarrassing and sometimes difficult to compete and lift heavy weights with these post baby core issues. I exercise regularly and got my body fat % down to 13% but nothing I did helped correct my diastasis/loose skin, and the hernia obviously needed surgical repair. I chose to have a full tummy tuck with abdominal muscle repair with a PS who could also fix my hernia. I consulted with several PS until I found one confident in their ability to fix my stomach. My condition was very bad and pretty complicated Since I had almost no viable fascia (tissue that holds your organs in). My PS did a newer technique using. Dermal gravy to fix my fasci defect and hernia (bs mesh which is what other PS we're going to use). It was the most painful experience I have ever been through, and I had both kids naturally-no meds...BUT worth every bit of it to have the results of a flat stomach and strong core! I was running 4 weeks post-op and back soon crossfit (modified) at 8 weeks. At 6 months post-op I was breaking many old PRs on my lifts and gymnastic moves. I had no issues healing, with scarring, swelling, etc. I used Biocorneum scar treatment (and will for total of 1 year).
I did have the "dog ear" scars at the end of each incision, one he was able to fix, the other side still isn't perfect by he said it was as good as he could get it. I may revisit after 1 year post op if still there, but honestly it's not that big of a deal to me. I had horrible stretch marks as well, so those didn't go away completly with TT but are a little better. Overall, best decision have made. Self esteem is best it's ever been and I look better now than I did in my 20s!

Like you, I'm a bodybuilder and power lifter. I know exactly how you felt wit the DR. I just had my TT to correct diastasis and hernia a month ago and I'm so happy with the results bim still swollen and not able to exercise yet but I can't wait. And u just inspired me to hit the weights hard when I get back. I have a review here if u want to check it out.

Awesome! The swelling takes time, at about 6 months all my swelling was gone. Hang in there! Your core will be very weak and tender at first but ease back in and you will be Shocked on your lifts. I'll definitely check your review out ;)

You look fantastic! Would you mind to post a picture of your scar after using the biocorneum for a year? I am 1 month post TT and looking for a good scar treatment.
